We are aware of the rain in the forecast for Sunday and are unfortunately having to cancel this year’s event. We are not afraid to run in a little bit of rain, ultimately it was up to the park. They are worried about the atrophy of their trails if we use them when wet. They have canceled our reservation for the park and will not let us do our event due to rain. We would appreciate if participants would consider transferring to the virtual run, and we would mail out all of the participation prizes we have already purchased. This option is great for supporting our run. If you would prefer we are more than happy to do a refund and hope to see everyone next year. Please email [email protected] if you would like to switch to virtual or request a refund. We would love for photos of your virtual run adventures. We are offering prizes for cute photo winners and will hopefully see everyone for Cheers With Long Ears 2024.

Last weekend, we participated in 3 days of b***o fun at the beautiful Sandam Ranch, 100 acres in the middle of the Prescott National Forest located in Dewey, AZ. Dr. Carolyn Lee is living the dream and truly is the hostess with the mostest and has the COOLEST b***o shirt collection! Sandam B***o Jam Camp is fun for all ages! The youngest competitor on the 3 mile was 9 years old and most mature competed in the 6 mile was 66 years old! The b***os participated in an obstacle course, race, costume contest, and treasure hunt! The treasure hunt was like the Amazing Race, but better with your b***o! The camping, campfire, music, meals, prizes, and camaraderie was exceptional! We enjoyed the nice relaxed atmosphere. Thank you and kudos to Carolyn, family, and volunteers!

For the Love of B***os

It all started with Trudy and Chancer our first long eared adopted children from Equine Wellbeing. Like potato chips we didn’t stop at just one and now have our fabulous five. Donkeys fill our lives with joy and teach us every day. Our string of b***os are all rescues. Our mission is to learn and teach others the joie de vivre “joy of living” a donkey can bring to your life. Running with a donkey is like crossfit. It is more than just cardio it necessitates the mind. You have to exude passion and happiness to encourage your b***o to want to go. They feel deeply and require you to make the choice to find happiness and share it with them. We all have our “donkey days,” and need a minute to stare down our fears or just aren’t feeling it. Donkeys have taught us that perseverance is a choice. Be happy, be kind, and donkey on. Our donkeys will be available for local events and yonder. Proceeds are to benefit our local AZ rescues and donkey sanctuaries.
