A ceremony script is unlike a usual piece of writing. It doesn’t have to have perfect grammar but it does have to feel natural, tell a story, have structure and flow when spoken. 📖
Once I’ve had a good crack at writing a draft of your ceremony I then spend some time reading it out loud, just like on the day, to make sure it feels smooth and not clunky. I then make tweaks here and there until it feels good. 📝
Really looking forward to reading this one to my couple for the first time on their special day! 🤍

How To Write Your Wedding Vows ✏️
HOW TO WRITE YOUR WEDDING VOWS ✏️
While you’re completing your Couples Questionnaire start to make some notes about what you’d like to include in your vows (as you’ll be feeling all the loved up vibes in that moment).🖊
There are no rules as to how to write your vows. However here’s a suggested structure you can follow:
1. Open with how you’re feeling in the moment about to be married to your person. Or perhaps open with how you knew this person was different from all the rest when you first met.😍
2. Continue with why you love them so much. What they have taught you. What they do to make you feel loved. 🥰
3. Decide on five promises you want to make to them. Perhaps 3 serious/romantic and 2 in there that are a bit more lighthearted 😉
4. Finish with what your hopes are for your future together and how ready/excited you are for it all.🤩

STORY TIME!📚
💥Story telling is one of the most powerful ways to communicate💥
Here’s a few key story telling elements I’ve picked up in my important role of “your love story-teller”:
💜Know your audience - what vibe will your audience be receptive to? Warming up the crowd jokes and welcomes will hit differently for different audiences.☝🏼
💜Use a hook in the opening- get everyone’s attention, set the tone for the story and get people excited about what’s to come 📣
💜Structure it clearly - people like to know what to expect and where they are in the story “there are three things I want you to walk away with…1,2,3” … “..and finally, I want to finish with these wise words of wisdom…xyz” 💬
💜Highlight emotional elements- give permission for everyone to feel all the things attached to this very important moment 🥰
💜Inject humour- lighten the mood and have a giggle to break up more serious elements 🤣
💜Vary your rate of speech and tone- monotone robot voice ain’t gonna cut it 🤖
💜Eye contact! If you’re not connecting with your audience, they’re not connecting with you and your story 👁👁
💜Don’t include non essential details- no one cares that Harry met Sally on a Saturday evening at 7.24pm and it was yellow bin night that night actually…oh wait no maybe green bin night..yeah…🥱
💜Don’t rush! Pause for impact- important moments and creating suspense requires a breath 🧘🏽♀️
💜Invite interaction - “…And now I ask you all, our wonderful family and friends, do you promise to celebrate this couple all night tonight which may or may not include loosing your voice from belting out the lyrics to ‘Mr Brightside’ on the dance floor later tonight?”

1. DO YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE CHATTING TO THEM?🥰
After initial meet and greets you may not remember what you guys chatted about but you will remember how they made you FEEL.💕
This is mucho importante!🤌🏻
You are going to be sharing the best bits about your relationship with your celebrant, including your vows. So you need to feel comfortable to do this with them.❤️
2. ARE THEY COMMITTED TO GIVING YOU A PERSONALISED EXPERIENCE?👌🏼
Did you feel like they were genuinely listening to how you’d like to get married and delivering on exactly that?
I don’t believe there are many celebrants who deliver a cookie cutter approach these days, however if you get a feeling that an experience may be a little vanilla and not for you, maybe keep looking.🧐
3. DO THEY SUIT THE VIBE YOU WANT FOR YOUR DAY?🤩
Your celebrant is facilitating your day, and although they will be presenting your story, their personality will always shine through.
Whether you want someone traditional, funny, alternative, serious or sweet (or maybe a bit of everything?), consider the celebrant’s overall personality and presentation and how they will compliment the vibe of your day.💫
