Hey lovers 👋🏼

Just a little note from me to say that 2025 is the year where I have decided to press a pause button on taking on new bookings for the foreseeable future.

My current focus is spending quality time with my little family (that I’m quickly realising won’t be little for very long).

With this decision I’m tempted to go on and on in a long soppy novel of a post about my journey as a celebrant over the past 4 years, and all the experiences I’ve had.
But instead, I’ll just summarise by saying that this role has added so much richness to my life and Im so grateful for all the genuine and sweet connections I’ve made along the way with my couples and the wedding community.

I still have a handful of beautiful weddings that I’m really looking forward to being a part of this year. So rest assured to those, nothing is changing for you and our booking. And I’m still planning on keeping my registration active for family and friends who may want me to do the honours.

So yeah, I just wanted to put this message officially on the grid for any new couples enquiring.

What an absolute dream it was to have the honour of marrying my gorgeous friend Morgan to the love of his life, Daniel.

From the moment the first guest walked into the ceremony space there was a quite yet ever present buzz. Like everyone was just bursting with anticipation to witness these two declare their love for each other.

Reciting their love story was a breeze as we all paused in the teary eyed moments, balanced out with the perfect amount of belly laughs.

If you’ve stumbled across my page in the Instagram rabbit hole that is wedding planning, welcome!

I’m Gab and I really love this job. 🥰

My vibe is friendly, confident and warm.

Couples that tend to resonate towards me are those who want a ceremony that feels relaxed, meaningful and personalised.

I do this gig as a part time passion while balancing my corporate job and mumming my little girl. 💜

I’m super organised and make sure you feel supported and guided through the whole lead up to and on your day, so you feel relaxed, excited and know that “gab’s got us”. 👌🏼

My fee includes travel to your venue and I also throw in the cost (and life admin effort) of ordering your official marriage certificate post wedding (needed if you want to change your surname to a married name). 💌

I love to do weddings around Melbourne, on the Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley. 🚗

Anyway, enough about me. ☺️

The switch from reading your ceremony off a kindle to now a beautiful, binded, cream A5 folder from 📔👌🏼

It’s giving ink to paper, traditional formalities.
It’s also giving ‘gabby has no more anxious thoughts about the kindle battery dying or getting overheated and conking out on me mid ceremony’ which is also great. 😅

I don’t consider this job hard.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s alot of work involved.

But I find that the “work” is to do with flexing my EQ, not my IQ.

Yes, in order to be a good celebrant you should have a flare for writing, presenting, being organised and of course being legally competent.

But, the emotional intelligence component is what, I believe, is the difference between a good celebrant and a great celebrant.

It’s picking up on the sometimes subtle cues provided to you about the couple, their relationship, their family dynamics and the tone they’d like portrayed on their day.

From the moment you arrive at the venue it’s stepping into helpful, efficient, friendly, thinking on your feet, working productively with other vendors and always, ALWAYS keeping the couple and their experience on their special day top of mind.

Yes, it can be exhausting at the end of the day (especially for an extroverted introvert like myself). But I’m so grateful to be given this opportunity to practice these skills in such a beautiful, impactful, meaningful way. 💫

AND THAT’S ME FOR TWENTY TWENTY-THREE! 💞

A year of me finding my celebrant groove again after having Sofia. Trying to figure out how to balance new Mumma life and this incredible job. 🎤

Not taking on too many weddings was the best decision for me, to make sure I was able to give my best to my beautiful couples.

Thank you to all who allowed me to play such a special role in your day. It’s been such a privilege to get to know and tell your love stories. 📖

The kindest of words from newlyweds Tenille and Ross 💫

“From the moment we met with Gabrielle we didn’t hesitate to place our total trust in her ability to lead us through the marriage process.

Her calm and gentle presence instilled us with such confidence that everything would fall into place for our day - and it did, in large part to her.

I feel like wedding ceremony’s are often a formality of the day, a check box, before there party begins- however, our ceremony was constantly complimented throughout our day as personable, romantic and the perfect way to start our marriage. For us, it was our favourite part of the day.

We will be forever grateful for the gift that is Gabrielle- we will genuinely miss our back and forth correspondence and meetings as we feel like we have found a wonderful friend in her. We would not hesitate for a second in recommending Gab for your special day.

Our tale begins in 2015. Henry had just returned to Swinburne University after a refreshing summer break in his hometown of Hamilton. On the fateful night that would change the trajectory of both their lives, Henry, despite his exhaustion, found himself persuaded (or rather, physically dragged) by friends to join a gathering. This gathering would lead to the dance floor of Lucky Coq on Chapel Street. 🕺🏻🍻

Enter Shelby. As Henry would recall, she was “a very tall, very pretty, very blonde, blue-eyed girl.” Shelby, having just wrapped up her shift at Hooked fish and chips on Glenferrie Road, had also reluctantly decided to join the party. That night, as their paths crossed amidst dancing and music, destiny was set into motion. 🪩 💫

While they danced in a group on the sticky dancefloor, Henry fondly remembers how he couldn’t help but remind Shelby, with every gap in the music, how good she looked. While Shelby remembers thinking “Wow, this guy really likes hair gel!” His hair was sky-high! Shelby found Henry’s approach both dorky and endearing and admired his genuine interest in getting to know her. 💃🏽❤️🕺🏻

Their playful banter evolved into shared drinks, and by the end of the night, they were discussing their preferred coffees, setting the stage for their first date the very next day. ☕️ 🥰
