: Chinese EV maker Nio deal to license technology to Middle East start-up FORSEVEN, unit of Abu Dhabi’s CYVN Holdings.

The deal allows Forseven, a unit of Abu Dhabi government fund CYVN Holdings, to use Nio’s know-how and technology for EV R&D, manufacturing and distribution.

Abu Dhabi has announced a trial operation of its first hydrogen-powered taxi. The new taxi aims to reduce carbon emissions in the emirate, as well as help meet Abu Dhabi's environmental goals, which aim to reduce emissions by 30 million tonnes by 2027, from 135 million tonnes in 2016.

Integrated Transport Centre - ITCAbuDhabi said the launch was in collaboration with Tawasul Transport L.L.C, ADNOC Distribution and Al-Futtaim Automotive - الفطيم للسيارات as part of its commitment to reduce emissions in taxi use, and was in line with Cop28 goals.

Hitachi Energy is deploying the first large-scale charging infrastructure for electric truck fleets in the UAE in collaboration with its customer Admiral Mobility. The Grid-eMotion Fleet charging infrastructure is expected to be operational in the UAE by early 2024 and will be used by multiple fleet operators that lease Admiral Mobility electric trucks for middle-mile and last-mile delivery applications.
