It was such a pleasure to officiate the Spencer/Henderson wedding recently. We had so many laughs, tears, the whole range of emotions and the rain managed to stay away for the ceremony. It was the fourth time the couple were trying to tie the knot and we finally got it all together for them! If anyone is looking for a laid back marriage celebrant who loves to put together a fun, personal, down to earth ceremony, then please hit me up!

I had the pleasure to officiate a wedding at Te Puna quarry Park recently. The couple were massive Warriors fans and Rugby league and basketball featured in both sets of vows :) I told them I like to go off script and tell entertaining stories during my ceremonies involving the couple in scenarios which may or may not have actually occurred. In this instance it was a recount of the 2011 NRL grand final where the bride was calling the game from the commentary box and the groom was on the field receiving passes from Manu Vatuvei and Shawn Johnson, only to crash over for the winning try in the corner in the final minute. There were lots of laughs and as I looked over at the bridal party to see if they were still with me, I got an 'up the wahs' in unison in return... I love being part of non-conventional weddings and making people laugh. It's such an honour to be part of such a special day in people's lives as its just a fun sideline for me. I introduce you to the newly married Mr and Mrs Henderson from Tauranga.. 😁 (no relation)

To play or not to play? Most of the weddings I've done have been fun, low key and not too serious as I'm not an overly serious kind of a guy.. I have been wondering if I don't throw in the odd ukelele song after the official bit is done and dusted... Played a few songs for the guests after I officated my cousins wedding but they know me so I felt OK with it. What do you reckon? I'm certainly no pro but is it a service worth offering? Haha

Hey there team! I've got another wedding coming up in August which I'm pretty excited about! This is not something I do full time and just love to be part of people's special day, whether it's a young couple or second time around, I'm all in as long as you want a fun, laid back and heartfelt ceremony :) I don't do churches or anything too serious and I'm all about connection with the audience, as after all, they're your greatest cheerleaders! I do max 6 weddings a year and have availability for the 24/25 summer. If you think I could be the right fit for you, check out my page / profile and please reach out via messenger.

Here is another cool occasion I had the pleasure of being a part of. Nicky and Earl's wedding out at the Te Miro Woolshed with photoadventure.co.nz taking the pics. It was a fun day despite the rain, and everyone turned out stunning. The ceremony was light hearted, entertaining, a bit random and heartfelt all at the same time.. Just how we like it!

I had the pleasure of officiating the wedding for Ange and Dai over the weekend. Many guests had made the trek from the UK and Australia. They are a hard case couple who love each other to bits, so it was great to be able to deliver a light hearted ceremony with lots of laughs and a bit of heartfelt stuff too. Tauranga turned the weather on to make it a very special day :)

I had the opportunity to officiate the wedding for Matt and Sara Packwood out at Lakes resort pauanui. The ceremony was organised at short notice as one of the immediate family members had become very ill, so Hawaiian shirts and positivity all around was the order of the day. When I put a ceremony together, I like to base it around the family, get to know the couple, keep it light hearted and weave jokes and funny stories into the narrative of the couples relationship. We had some great laughs, a few tears and smiles all around. Thank you for allowing me to take part in your special day :) if anyone else is looking for a light hearted but heartfelt ceremony, please reach out to Scott Henderson - Not your average Marriage Celebrant :)

Back in October last year I had the pleasure of officiating a surprise wedding. It was an engagement party in a barn near Pokeno. It was such a wonderful laid-back occasion on a beautiful spring afternoon. There were plenty of laughs, smiles and tears. Just how a wedding should be! It was just awesome to be part of such a special occasion!

Hey there team! Those of you who know me know that I'm a bit of a joker and a Larakin, but can be serious if I need to be. I've fallen into this role at the request of friends and family who didn't want some serious random stranger officiating their special day! I have a background in public speaking / marketing, education and tourism, but these days am just as happy in my red bands and high vis. I'm a surfer, a diver, fisherman, mountain biker, traveler, hiker and searcher of fun and adventure. I'm also a keen strummer of the Ukulele for a singalong. Whatever you do, don't let me near the band! I might commandeer a microphone :). I try to make my wedding ceremonies fun, lighthearted, but then sincere heart-felt and emotional - the whole roller coaster! If you're looking for someone to stand in a church in a suit, you're looking in the wrong place. I'd be more at home with my feet in the sand on the beach, in the bush, the farm, a boat, or even jumping out of a perfectly good airplane! I speak French, Dutch, a wee bit of Spanish, German and Japanese and am currently learning Te Reo. Feel free to hit me up to discuss your 'not so average' Wedding plans!

Hey there team. Those who know me know I'm a bit of a Larkin and a joker but can be serious when I need to be. I have fallen into this role just to perform weddings for friends and family who didn't want some random boring person officiating their special day. I try to make the ceremony, fun, personal, as well as sincere, memorable and emotional - all the things! I have a background in public speaking / marketing, but these days am just as happy in my red bands and high vis. I'm a fisherman, diver, surfer, hiker, traveler and seeker of fun and squeeze as much out of life as I can. If you want someone to put on a suit and stand in a church, you're asking the wrong guy! I'd be more at home barefoot on a beach, on a farm, boat, the bush or jumping out of a perfectly good airplane! I speak French, Dutch, a wee bit of Spanish, German and Japanese and am currently learning Te Reo. Hit me up to see if I'm available for your special, 'not your average' Wedding!
