Yes, this is one of my New Year's Resolutions. I'll still give discounts for my Lovely Photography or Wedding Resource Center ::: Pure Imagination work to friends, friends of clients, military, and anyone working in law enforcement or fire service... but I refuse to play the "who has the lowest prices" game, barter with people (especially on the exchange sites, for instance), and sell myself short just to make a buck. I prefer to do quality work and give people over and above. ALSO this year, I'm doing "extra" sessions, gifts, etc. for my current clients / clients whom have booked me in the past year or so.
THANK YOU to all of my current and past clients. I value you and of course now I'm trying to value myself. Keeping quality high and prices low is important to me, but I will not under-price myself. It's a LOT of work behind the scenes, more than anyone knows (and more than "new" photographers will ever know until they learn how to really shoot and edit properly and take care of their clients). I will not take down the value of the industry by under-pricing myself. I must know my worth and deliver the best product at a fair price.
