It's now your time to showcase your hidden creativity, talent and skills in making your table decorative. Coming December 1, 2022 at IHMEX 2022: HIMAKAS Table Setting Competition. Ready, set the table! Mechanics: 1. Must be a bonafide student of Batangas State University the National Engineering University - Pablo Borbon Campus. 2. Participants from 2nd Year Students of Tourism and Hospitality Management must execute a table setting for a minimum of two (2) members per block in an area size of 2m x 2m, and must include chairs, table napkins, chinaware, flatware, cutleries, and centerpiece good for two(2) people. 3. Participants are requested to wear Female: white long sleeves, scarf, blackskirt, black shoes and hair bunned properly. Male: white long sleeves, necktie, black socks,vest, black leather shoes and hair brushed up properly. 4. Each team will set-up each table together with their centerpiece on the day of competition for judging and will display its entry until the end of the said event. 5. All linens, plates, glassware, flatware and others will be provided by the school given its availability. 6. Other props and materials that are needed by the participants must be provided by the students. 7. 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒌𝒆! We are thrilled to announce to you the IHMEX 2022: Himakas “Cake Decorating Competition“! Watch as the finest and most talented Spartan cake stars are about to compete for the best cake decoration of the year! Mechanics: 1.Must be a bonafide student/s of Batangas State University the National Engineering University – Pablo Borbon Campus to enter the Cake Decorating Competition. 2.There must be (2) two Second Year participants of Hospitality Management for each block. 3.Participants must be in their proper Kitchen Laboratory Uniform: Hairnet or Toque Chef’s Jacket Black Slacks or Checkered Chef Pants Black Apron with two towels (white) Clog Shoes 4.The participants must give a title/name of their cake (maximum of 5 words) based on the theme: WEDDING 5.All cakes must follow the size requirements below: Width: 8 inches in diameter - bottom base, 6 inches in diameter – top base (round or square) Height: Minimum:15 inches, Maximum: 18 inches Cake Board: Maximum of 10 inches only Tier: Maximum of 2 tiers Layer: 3 layers *Height requirements is from the top (cake toppers/designs etc.) to bottom (including cake board) 6.The cake bases that will be decorated must be baked and done in the Kitchen Laboratory a day before the event’s competition. (It can be any recipe as long as it is a CHIFFON CAKE, any flavor of your choice) 7.Participants must use either Buttercream or Ganache or both for their Icing/Frosting of the cake. 8.All decorations must be edible. 9.All expenses must be shouldered by the students of each block and must not exceed within the amount of ₱1,500.00 10.Other tools and materials that will be needed in the said competition must be provided by the students. 11.Participants will be given 2 hours only to complete the decorating for judging. Be ready to pass your tray along with your creativeness this coming December 1, 2022. Pass it on! Mechanics: 1. Must be a bonafide student of Batangas State University the National Engineering University - Pablo Borbon Campus. 2. Four (4) participants from each block of 2nd year students taking Tourism and Hospitality Management. 3. Grooming requirement: Female: white long sleeves, scarf, blackskirt, vest, rubber shoes and hair bunned properly Male: white long sleeves, necktie, black socks, vest, rubber shoes and hair brushed up properly. 4. Students will race down in relay, putting up a table for two (2) in the American Service setting. 5. The first member of the team will execute the seven basic folds: pyramid, candle, bishop’s hat, fan with stand, lotus, banana, sail boat. 6. After the first member has completed the napkin folds, he/she will tap the second member of the team to do the laying of table cloth. 7. The second member runs back to his team and taps the third member. The third member will then bring china wares and cutleries to the table, and will start setting up the table following the proper standard of American service. 8. The third member will run back to his team and tap the fourth member. The fourth member will bring glassware, cups and folded napkins finishing the set up. He will then tap the timer to stop. All tablewares will be coming from the waiters station. 9. The team who got the fastest time following the proper standard wins. 10. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝑪𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈??? Be ready, as you are about to unveil what’s inside the basket. So come join us in the first ever food basket competition this coming December 2,2022 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at the Kitchen Laboratory. 𝐌𝐄𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐒: 1. The competition is open to 2nd year Tourism Management Students. 2. One (1) team per block that should be composed of two (2) members only. 3. All ingredients/ equipment is provided. Every team has one box containing the ingredients. (They need to think of a dish from the ingredients that they have). Each team will be given fifteen (15) minutes to write their recipe and procedure in the official recipe form every after cooking a dish and submitting it to the organizers. 4. The participants must provide a Title Card which contains the title and the brief description of each of the dishes on display. This must be submitted together with the Recipe Form. A three (3)-point deduction from the total score shall be incurred for non-submission of the title card. 5. The title cards must be placed on the display area of the participant’s dishes prior to judging. 6. All competitors are requested to wear proper cooking attire. Cooking attire: Chef's Uniform N/A: Plain white polo shirt, slacks & rubber shoes. Personal Protective Gear: (apron, hairnet, rubber shoes). Each team must bring at least three (3) kitchen towels. 7. All preparation and cooking of dishes, including garnishes, must be entirely made and crafted on the spot. A team who brings in any cooked item will be disqualified. Before the competition starts, each working area will be checked by the committee to ensure that no item (e.g., food and beverage) has been brought in. 8. Every team should prepare two plates for each dish – one for display and another one to be served to the judges for tasting. 9. Entrée/Main Course should pair well with brown rice. One participant from each block of 2nd year students taking Tourism and Hospitality Management. 3. Students will demonstrate seven (7) basic folds as enumerated below and one (1) special fold which they create themselves in a form of dance. The contestants are allowed to bring any props like a glass / napkin holder for a special fold. 9. All participants will be given a time of two (2) minutes to demonstrate both the basic and special fold and thirty (30) seconds for their showmanship. 10.
