We have been truly overwhelmed by the amazing feedback we’ve had from the young people and their parents who attended Mozart in Mind 🥰

We are over the moon that everyone who attended was able to relax and enjoy the event 🎶

We want to share a video with you that made us smile today! 😄

This is a video of Toronto-based band ASD, named from Autism Spectrum Disorder because all five in the group are on the spectrum.

The band invited people on the spectrum from around the world to film themselves listening and playing along to their cover of Sonny and Cher's "I Got You Babe." The resulting video includes submissions from 11 countries! 🌎

Our last Mozart in Mind performer is Charlotte 🎉

She has performed with various ensembles such as the BBC Proms Youth Ensemble at the ‘Last Night of the Proms’ and with the National Youth Chamber Orchestra. When not playing in an ensemble, she enjoys playing for weddings and at folk events too.

We’re thrilled to have such a talented group of musicians joining us for this event. It’s going to be a wonderful evening of live music! 🎶

Molly is from South Lincolnshire and has performed with many orchestras, notably the Britten Sinfonia Academy. She is passionate about exploring baroque and contemporary music for solo cello, and has co-founded the ‘Dahlia Ensemble’ at RBC. She has also worked on the premiere of Anna Vienna Ho’s opera The Monk of the River.

Meet Oliver who will be joining us for Mozart in Mind 👋

Oliver studies both baroque and modern violin. One of his most recent performances was as principal second violin in the Arcadian Opera production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Oliver also works as a creative, collaborating on artistic projects in and around Birmingham. He also sings with the City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus alongside the CBSO.

Meet our Mozart in Mind performer Ruby 👋

Ruby's most recent opera performances include Romilda in Mozart's 'La Finta Semplice' and Fortuna in Monteverdi's 'L'incoronazione di Poppea at RBC, Kathleen Rode in Stephen McNeff's 'Banished' and the role of hero in Phillip Matty's opera 'Jabberwocky'. Ruby’s personal highlight was performing in English National Opera's 'The Nutcracker' in 2019 🎶

It is crucial for young people with additional needs to have equal oppertunities to experience live music. That's why our events have a low capacity, pastel lighting and sensory stations to create a relaxed atmosphere where all audience members can enjoy themselves 🎶

Meet Henry 👋

Henry is both an accomplished pianist and singer. He combines his two talents by spending a lot of his time accompanying singers in classes, competitions and in operas. Recently at RBC he has won the accompanists prize in the Lieder Prize Competition and has played for Opera Scenes and the Spring Opera of Banished 🎶

Henry is looking forward to accompanying our other musicians for Mozart In Mind next month 🎹

For International Womens Day we are celebrating our Founder Chloë Gadd 💙

Over the past 4 years Chloe has combined her Vocal and Operatic studies with her work as a Support Worker and Activities Leader for young people with complex additional needs at the Rose Road Association, as well as voluntary work with Melody Music and inner city schools as a vocal mentor 🎶

Her experiences have inspired her to launch this brand, to provide equal opportunities within live music events for those with additional needs 🙌

We are so proud to be hosting our launch event next month, and we cannot wait to welcome you all the Birmingham's newest, inclusive classical music event! 🎉

Meet Hannah Morely, she is an award winning Mezzo, with First Prize in the Edward Brooks Lieder Prize and Third Prize in the English Song Prize at RBC in 2021. She has recently performed the roles of ‘Miss Forcible’ in Coraline and ‘Madge Williams’ in Banished - both at the Conservatoire. 🎶
