Day 4 of Gratitude: The Joy of Personal Touches

This year, I’ve seen couples bring their personalities into their ceremonies in the most creative and meaningful ways…from heartfelt traditions to unexpected (and adorable) surprises.

One moment that stole my heart was Shannon and Alan who included their beloved dog as the flower puppy. It was such a joyful and unforgettable touch that had everyone smiling from ear to ear.

I practiced your names, last name, and even that cousin with the unique way to spell Ashley (you know the one).

I’ve counted down the days with you, feeling your excitement through every check-in.

I have 30 minutes to deliver a ceremony that’s unforgettable, unique, and have your guests saying, “Wow, that was so them.”

I’ll walk away with one heartfelt hug for every tear, laugh, and moment shared.

Wedding MBA 2024 was a trip full of firsts:

✨ First time attending

✨ First time in Las Vegas

✨ First time meeting and hearing speak (truly unforgettable!)

✨ First time meeting Mark Allan Groleau () and sharing an amazing dinner with other Unboring Wedding Officiants

✨ First time meeting the one-of-a-kind,

✨ Frist time pronouncing newly-weds as a GROUP!

The beautiful thing about firsts is that they don’t have to be the only time. I still have so much to share, but for now, I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone I met and everyone who added value to this trip. I left feeling inspired, rejuvenated, and ready to put into practice the incredible knowledge I gained. Las Vegas and the Wedding MBA owe me nothing!

Happy Monday, everyone! This week, I’m thrilled to be at in Vegas, diving into an incredible journey of learning and connection with some of the best in the wedding industry. I can’t wait to spend time with my 2024 Fellows, see my amazing mentor , and finally meet Mark Allan Groleau () and , along with so many other inspiring wedding professionals.

It’s going to be a transformative week, and I’m excited to bring you along on the experience! With a packed itinerary, it’ll fly by, but every moment will be worth it.

As a proud Nigerian-American, born in the land where storytelling has been woven into the fabric of our culture, I’ve carried that love of stories into everything I do. Growing up surrounded by the rich oral traditions of my heritage, I’ve learned the power of telling meaningful stories — the ones that bring people together, remind us of our shared humanity, and celebrate life’s milestones.

As Ope the Officiant, I bring that same tradition into every wedding I officiate. I take the time to learn my couples’ unique love stories and create ceremonies that aren’t just recitations of vows but celebrations of their personal journey. Storytelling runs deep in me, and I love being able to create moments that couples will cherish forever, just like the stories I grew up with.

Just last week, I had the pleasure of holding the rehearsal for Dina and Enrique. Seeing their wedding party come together for the first time was truly special. A wedding rehearsal is important for so many reasons, but here are my top three:

1️⃣ It helps the entire wedding party understand their roles and responsibilities.

2️⃣ It gives everyone a chance to familiarize themselves with the ceremony flow, minimizing stress on the big day.

3️⃣ It allows the couple to enjoy their wedding day knowing everything will run smoothly!

✨️If I'm unable to do an in-person rehearsal, I coordinate with my couples for a virtual Ceremony Logistics Review and a cue sheet, so everything still goes off without a hitch! ✨️
