A special shoutout to The Clockwork Ticker and The Underbridge Society for continuing to bring magic and whimsical creature energy to every event they attend! Although they will not have their own table this year, they will be present and helping with other things, most often found at the Madame's Oddities table this year.

Our next vendor is near and quite dear to us. Cara of Madame's Oddities has been working her tail off for over a year now, creating a brick and mortar home for the ecclectic and the strange. She has been bringing live bands in for up close shows where bands mingle with fans. She has gathered many artists and given them a home space to showcase their works and support one another. She has been raising up her family and her business and her community all at once, and we commend her.

Welcome to our vendor showcase of 2024! We are ecstatic to announce that we have a super rad artist working with us this year. He took our fairy theme and gave it a wonderfully nerdy spin, bringing into existence a whole new line of.... fairy pokemon!! It is truly delightful to see 😍

The venue will be selling food and non-alcoholic drinks on site during the masquerade! They have provided me with a sample menu of what they usually sell during events, but they do reserve the right to edit this list as availability changes.

As you can see, there are LOTS of options of delicious noms to eat, but not a huge amount of allergy friendly listings. If you or anyone attending with you has allergy concerns, please message me and we will chat. I do not have any control over the food offered by the venue, but I CAN help you research nearby restaurants with better allergen-aware menus, so that you can still grab a bite to eat before Masks of Mischief starts at 7PM.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

As we learned last year, if you are not a non-profit or a fully licensed bar or winery, Virginia ABC laws do not allow you to sell or even gift alcohol at your event.

However, there is one small loophole, and I once again have jumped through the hoops, and we will be legally offering beer and wine SAMPLES, so be prepared for smaller cups with smaller prices to match. Also, be nice to the fae duo telling you a factoid or two about what you have selected. They legally have to do that. No really. The sampling license requires us to offer snippets of education about the booze as we serve. Humor us!

If you are a flask person, please leave it home or in the car. We are strictly not allowed to bring outside alcohol in except what we have registered via the license, and you cannot take our alcohol out into the parking lot with you.

Thank you for reading, and please fly, flutter, crawl, slither, stomp, shimmy, or float your way to and fro the venue responsibly!

I wanted to make sure that EVERYONE got the memo about the Masks of Mischief date change a few months back. We had to change the venue, so the available dates also changed.
It will be held from 7-11 PM on Saturday, September 14th, 2024.

We are finally starting to get out for the season and reach out to the community to make sure they know the next Faerie Masquerade Ball in Fredericksburg is September 14th, 2024 at the Fredericksburg Eagles on Cool Springs Road!

We also got to represent our partner company for the day and eat sweet and savory treats from the food vendors.

Thanks to and for organizing this awesome vendor event, and giving us something fun to do on a rainy Sunday!

Another business that I have been eyeing for absolutely ages now around town is Copper and Cauldron !!! I have seen them at Farmer's Markets, pop up sidewalk sales, and other niche places, and I have never NOT been mesmerized and impressed by the shinies! I am excited to announce that we have an art collective coming to bring their own brand of mischief! Lost Reach (https://lostreach.com/) under their community brand Hex & Holler, will be bringing us themselves and 3 additonal artists to keep us company and bring a little color into our evening!

This morning we have the spotlight for , who will be coming to Masks under the umbrellas of Realm's Workshop and RealmScape Fest (https://linktr.ee/RealmScapeFest) to help represent equality in costuming, to offer some education on the how-tos and how-not-tos of fantasy hair (especially Afro-Fae hair) for the POC community and any interested parties, and to offer a fairy salon to all, bring some fun vibes, and maybe even share some crafts with us!

I for one am all about it. I can't wait to see what his group comes up with!

Wednesday's Whimsies is a q***r owned small business that aims to promote quirky crafts and creations while pursuing intersectionality. Hazel and Nora run it as an art collective based in the Shenandoah Valley.

As an aside, Hazel is really great at making Instagram graphics to help friends advertise their small businesses. They helped me out with all the matchy ones on the Ethereal Encounters Instagram! If you ask nicely, you might be able to get some pointers, too

Willow Wellness LLC is run by Melissa who holds B. A. in Psychology and certifications as a Reiki Master, Tuning Fork Therapy® Practitioner, Integrated Energy Therapy (IET), Archangelic Light Practioner, Reiki for pets, and Crystal Healing. She creates many intention-holding items, which she will be showcasing at our Mischief Market! I hear there will be some tailor-made things solely for our event, and I cannot wait to set my eyes on them!
