Words of advice to future married couples.
“1. One of the hardest things— Communication— because it’s not just what you say but how you say it! And whether if it’s necessary or not
And the timing of it.
There’s an art to proper communication.
2. Patience - it takes patience when two people come together and they are not exactly on an even keel. It takes time to understand the other person and come to a flow
3. Desire- not just for the other person in an intimate way but the desire to make it work, to go the extra mile, to serve, and to work at it daily
4. Gratitude- gratitude changes one’s attitude. Remind yourself of all the good and kind things your spouse has done. It’s easy to forget when in a state of tension and disagreements
5. Not everything is worth fighting about. Have a good opinion of your spouse.”
