This is a message for all couples due to get married in the next few weeks. Tag anyone you may think needs to read this in the comments.

The weather is unstable, you may not get that golden hour glow and your dresses and suits might get dirty.

You might have to change venues or opt for an indoor ceremony instead of that gorgeous outdoor setting you have been dreaming of.

You have put in so much hard work the past year to plan this day and right now it might seem like it is all going to waste.

But when you get to the end of that aisle and you look each other in the eyes you will forget all about the stress, I promise you. While you declare your love for each other as your friends and family watch on, you won't care if it is a cyclone outside, because in that moment, all you will care about, is that person in front of you that you are marrying.

Everyone will tell you 'Don't worry, rain on your wedding day is good luck'.
And you will fake a smile in response while it pains you inside to think about it. Just try to remember the end goal is marrying the person you love.

Speak to your photographer now, have a wet weather plan. Ensure you have enough umbrellas for everyone.

And my last piece of advice would be - dance in the rain with your husband or wife, jump in the puddles, stand under a light pole and kiss like nobody is watching... Don't worry about your hair, dress, shoes or suit.

Enjoy the moment. Rain, hail or shine. It will go by so fast. Make the most of it.

Once upon a time I was a teacher in Rockhampton. There I met a roofer with a moustache. I rocked up to the pub in my fully sick lancer with purple personalised plates ERN92.
Mr roofer declared my new name to be Ernie. The moustache is now a full blown beard and we live happily with our 2 babies ❤️
