🌙 Under the eerie light of the Full Lunar Eclipse, The Surreal Sirkus returns to Pack Square Park this Halloween weekend with The Surreal Sirkus Arts Festival! Join the Sirkus (you've always wanted to!) for a uniquely local experience of performance, art vendors, food, beer, spirits and more!

Surreal Sirkus show begins at 7:30p in the Amphitheater at Pack Square.

🎪 The Surreal Sirkus is a nonprofit performance art troupe with roots deep in Asheville history. Founded in 1996, its annual free Halloween festival was an institution in the city’s art scene.
The Surreal Sirkus was laid to rest by a Viking funeral in 2005, and triumphantly resurrected in 2021 with a free all-day fair and evening performance in the city center, with thousands attending throughout the event’s duration.

Bio: A production duo from the South West of England, composed of Will Marquiss and Mike Holliday.

After Perfecting the art of turntablism from their early teens, the pair turned their attention to studying music production, and Mystic State was born.

Their crystal clear productions are instantly recognizable, with the duo's signature sound being a fusion of late 90's Jungle Dub and Ambient, Layered with film dialogue and tricare placed samples.

Friday Supporting Cast

Operating out of Raleigh, NC, Tyler Criso, otherwise just known as Criso, is an artist specializing in dubstep, drum & bass, garage and halftime. With notable headline performances under his belt, large festival appearances, and support for artists like Hypho, Tape B, Ternion Sound, Emalkay, Coki and more, Criso has garnered the attention of the dubstep community quickly and defiantly.

, a prominent dubstep and halftime DJ hailing from North Carolina, has established himself as a seasoned artist with years of experience in the industry. With his extensive knowledge and expertise, Tymellord has performed in major cities across the state, delivering high-energy sets and showcasing his unique track selection skills.

Driven by the beat, the breaks, and the bass, iXNéE isn't content to stick with the status quo. She pushes the envelope with a cutting-edge style that's all her own: melodic and compelling, performed with a seamless flow that moves mind, body, and soul.

Saturday Supporting Cast

Chad Moore a.k.a. Hexxus, is a Charlotte, NC based DJ/producer who likes to explore the darker and deeper side of the Drum & Bass frequencies, while also incorporating moody and silky Liquid textures into the mix, along with a sprinkle of Hip hop to keep the vibes fresh.

DLX is well known for his strategic drum placement, no holds barred editing processes and moving riddims. He continues to utilize synths in a refreshing and new outlook. Clearly getting tremendous influence from early breakbeat-techno and jungle he progresses with each track to bring you something special. Listen for his blistering deep low sub tones coming from the bassbins."

Q-b=µsik Producere is an experience providing many different forms of application and mediums. You never know what to expect and it always keep them on their toes. "Q-b=µsik" , are a multimedia outlet for interactive experiences through music, sound, art and more.

The Musicgroove Album of the week is: Where Did I Go @dmvuofficial & @finnohsworld August 12, 2022 Dome of Doom DMVU & Finnoh have made a collaborative work entitled ‘Where Did I Go’, the 6-track EP traverses several sonic moods and styles but is tied together with DMVU’s nimble production supporting lyrics written by Finnoh. About half of the record was produced and recorded remotely, while a few select tracks were recorded live with Finnoh at DMVU’s home studio in Colorado. The songs on this project span across collaborations from several from different eras of the artists’ friendship. Sonically it is an evolution and elevation of both of their styles since their last full project collaboration ‘Green Tape’. It is a window into the artists’ present and a door to their potential future. The lead single ‘The Murky’ was the first song that DMVU & Finnoh recorded together in the studio. Conceptually, this project is contemplating the infinite nature of time. It represents how everything can change in an instant, but simultaneously life can feel as if it moves slowly when time feels immovable and constant. In a way, the title ‘Where Did I Go’ also references that phenomenon. No one is the person they were yesterday and they won’t be the same tomorrow; thusly being aware and present in the moment holds so many rare gifts and can take us to places we never imagined we could discover. MusicGroove Artist Announcement 2/5: From Wilmington, NC, KANG B has a long background in music, including over 10 years in electronic production. He is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, dj, and vocalist new to the Asheville area. Touting a custom built multi-instrumentalism desk accommodating six instruments and vocals simultaneously, he has big plans for future performances and an album in the works! Boasting a glitched out, psychedelic trappy style with plenty of intermittent wubs, he is also known to drop high energy house and U.K. Garage as well. An overall esoteric style, when asked to describe his own sound you will only get metaphors like...... “King Kong on a ten-strip”, or “a prototype outer-space cabaret”, or “alien music for future people”. From old school punk, to roots reggae, hip-hop, trap, dub and dubstep, garage, glitch, house, many types of experimental and avant garde, his influences span across the board. His Dj sets are filled with dark and sexy vibes that keep you moving! You can also catch him scratching this summer, and hopefully adding more instruments to live performances soon. You might have caught past performances alongside artists like Dredlok, Froggy P, Bombassic, Push/Pull, and Zeppelin.
