Beth and Scott are coming home from New Zealand in April to get married at the beautiful in Glasgow. They’ll be bringing baby James with them and I can’t wait to conduct their ceremony!

I’ve known Beth since she was a little girl and I can honestly say that she is one of the sweetest and kindest people I know. 💖

This adventurous pair will have a wedding day full of love, fun, and heaps of laughter as they tie the knot surrounded by friends and family! I’m so excited! 🥳

💖 Merry Christmas 💖

Merry Christmas to you all! I hope you have a joyful and restful time celebrating. This year has been amazing for me - I have met and married so many beautiful couples, created ceremonies for many lovely families, and made friends with many amazing humans working in the wedding industry. 💝

If I married you this year, I hope you’re enjoying your first Christmas as a married couple! It was an honour to get to know you all, and you now each hold a special place in my heart. 💞

⭐️ WRITING ⭐️

I love to write. I’ve been writing for years and I have had a few things published, but I don’t often share my poetry. My poems can be a bit heavy.

I wrote this poem on Valentine’s Day 2024. It’s a light look at loss and love. It’s not a great work of literature, buts it is a part of me, and it’s a testament of my love. That what grief is, isn’t it?
The love that’s left behind.❤️

Yesterday I conducted my last ceremony for 2024, and what a ceremony it was. It was my absolute honour to conduct a Forever Ceremony for a wonderful young boy to celebrate him officially becoming a permanent member of his wonderful, caring family - who love him so much.

To celebrate we listened to three beautiful poems. We had a 17-person sand blending, and a box of warm wishes that will be kept safe until this wonderful boy turns 18, when he will able to open the box and read all the heartfelt notes and letters (and enjoy a wee tipple as there will be a bottle of vodka in the box too!)

I left with a huge smile on my face and a warm heart, and the family and friends went on to party in the best way possible - with a huge bouncy castle to play around in!

What a kind, loving and smiley boy. These are the days that make us feel so grateful for what we have and the people we have in our lives.

Thank you to the wonderful family who trusted me with yesterday’s ceremony. Have the best FOREVER possible - full of happiness, love, and fun! 🩷

What a beautiful sunny Thursday we had today in Glasgow! The sunshine reminded me of this day back in August when I conducted a bilingual wedding ceremony for Alan and Rocco at the gorgeous Pollokshields Burgh Hall 🇮🇹 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ❤️

We shared a beautiful poem by Witney Hanson, and Rocco and Alan trusted me to share three reasons why they love each other. ❤️

A truly memorable day for these two handsome lovebirds - full of love and laughter! ❤️🥰

Thank you for having me - I LOVED getting to know you and being part of your special day was such a joy!

🩷 Love.🩷

It’s the beginning and end of everything. I became a celebrant because I’m a massive fan of love in all its forms. From all the little things we take for granted to the grand gestures and declarations, from song lyrics to poems to love letters - I LOVE it all! I’m a great listener and a passionate storyteller and I would love to share the story of your love!

Previous couples have told me that they felt cared for, listened to, looked after and important. They have said they enjoyed the giggles and laughter and all the little touches and nods to the important people, places and pets in their lives.

I love to write, it has been my passion for a lifetime, and I have a lifetime of wandering and living amongst many different cultures and traditions to draw inspiration from. I love poetry and creativity so I’ll happily suggest poems and readings if you would like me too.

I’ll set the tone - with you right at the heart of your ceremony. It’s your day, and it should feel very personal and bespoke to you.

I’m a fully qualified and insured celebrant, I can legally marry you anywhere in Scotland, and I can guide you through all the legal processes as well.

If you would like your ceremony to be conducted in Italian, I can do that too. 🩷

🩷 THE PROPOSAL 🩷

One of my favourite things to ask about when I meet new couples is the PROPOSAL story. I’ve heard so many from the spontaneous “I can’t wait for the perfect moment, I need to do it NOW” proposals, to the perfectly planned, super-romantic, special-place proposals. Some have us bent double with laughter, others have us crying with the emotion of it all. One thing every story has in common is, of course, LOVE.

These photos are were taken on the day Mr G proposed to me. He had a terribly bad back, but he still walked us up to the bench at Falls of Bruar (a special place for us) and surprised me.

The funny part of the story is that we had been on a weekend trip to Barcelona a few months previously and I had been convinced he was going to do it there so everyday I had woken up thinking “this will be the day.” He didn’t of course, and I never mentioned it to him.. So a part of me on that Falls of Bruar trip was thinking “about bloomin’ time!” 😂❤️

Thank you so much to Becca and Lewis for this lovely recommendation! It honestly means everything to know that you enjoyed your wedding ceremony and will look back on it with happiness in the years to come.

I conducted Becca and Lewis’ wedding ceremony last month at the beautiful hotel. It was a simple intimate ceremony, full of love and emotion. We had a ring warming, and we shared 3 beautiful reasons why Becca and Lewis love each other and we shared their fabulous love story, that included an electric slide proposal! Fur baby Aug was on his best behaviour and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!

Last Saturday I had the great pleasure of conducting the wedding of Liz and Josh on the shores of Loch an Eilein near Aviemore. Liz and Josh are soulmates who care so much for each other and for everyone around them.

They shared the most emotional and moving personal vows that brought a tear to everyone’s eyes, we heard the three wonderful reasons why they love each other, and then they sealed the deal with their legal vows and an exchange of stunning wedding rings - engraved with “til death.”

With their little baby Harry alongside, and surrounded by the people they love most, our couple shared a kiss and then the new Mr & Mrs Hesmondhalgh tied the knot and then went off for a wander around the beautiful loch with Trevor to capture some magical shots in this gorgeous location.

Thank you so much, Liz and Josh, for this wonderful review. It was absolutely my pleasure to be part of your day and I have loved getting to know you both. Wishing you all the happiness! 💕💕💕

Yesterday marked 2 years since my lovely step-dad, Jack, died. He had suffered from dementia for 10 years but in those precious lucid moments when he was with us he still brought a happy smile.

I loved Jack very much. He was solid and dependable and a very good man. My best memories of him though are of his many visits to wherever I have lived in the world, whether it was London, Devon, Italy, Arizona, Canada, or in later years, Scotland, he took everything in his stride and always made the effort to come and spend time. Our road trips were epic… the winding roads of the Amalfi coast, the road up to the Grand Canyon, Vegas and Yosemite, and the trips from Toronto up to Algonquin Park - he attacked it all, even when he was in his 80s!

He made it to the grand old age of 97. This is one of my favourite photos of him with my mum, taking in the vast expanse of the Grand Canyon the first time he visited me in AZ. Treasured memories.

When the kids are no longer kids and they’re all away living their best lives.
