It's been 5 years since I started creating my monthly playlists. Every month (or two), I've been publishing a Spotify playlist consisting of the music that has somehow influenced or impressed me at the time.
It started when my bestie Adam ( ) challenged me to collect all such music in the then-yet-to-come January 2019. I did it for that month, and then for the next one… and continued doing so. 47 playlists until now, each about 2-3.5 hrs in duration. Only cherry-picked tunes, ordered mindfully to create a flowing (as much as possible, given genres’ diversity), musical score of that time of mine.
So far, I've been sharing these playlists with just a small group of friends. But from now on, I'll publish them on my socials' stories (the last '23 is already available). All are made public on my Spotify profile (link in the comment).
These playlists consist of the music that defines me. Lots of organic/ethno downtempo, accompanied by ambient, psychill, tribal/shamanic, progressive, darker psytrance – obviously, the music I dig and DJ. But there's also plenty of modern jazz, contemporary classical, dark bass/dubstep, psydub, IDM, drone, or more experimental, conceptual stuff. You'll also find singing/acoustic tunes, indie, medicine, ethereal, post/prog rock, deep/minimal/psy techno, trip-hop, and even hints of synthwave, witch house/pop, phonk, vaporwave, EBM, dnb, rnb, hardcore, or metal. It's quite interesting to see how this has evolved throughout the years. Still no reggae, though.
All this was dug by myself, recommended by friends, suggested by Spotify & Last.fm algorithms, peeked over fellow DJs' shoulders, and shazamed at different times and places. All is good, very good, quite amazing in fact. To my taste.
Check out what's already there & what's still to come. Hope you enjoy.
