I was asked on very short notice to help out a neighborhood with their annual 4th of July Parade. My job was to lead the parade of kids to their Celebration destination. Of course I couldn't deny this wonderful group but needed to leave early for my own party.
I am so glad that I did this event. Wonderful people and great kids.
I was shocked when 100's of kids arrived with the decorated bikes and scooters. Thanks to Kim and Lee for contacting me and including Lil Red as the lead in the parade!
Such awesome American spirit and pride on display. I hope you enjoy the pictures and video. God Bless America!!!

A few weeks ago, I'm participating in a neighborhood cruise event in Ramona with my Fire Truck and I meet a retired Fire Chief named Woody. He's a great guy and also a fellow classic car enthusiast. He really liked my Fire Truck and we shared some stories along with quality time together.
Well, sadly he passed away recently from a heart attack and we never really got to develop our friendship.
A car club (Good Ole Boys of San Diego) planned a Woody Memorial Cruise in El Cajon for Wednesday, June 23 and it was advertised via the El Cajon Cruise night post on Facebook.
I thought that driving my hot rod Fire Truck in this cruise would be an excellent way to honor this man that befriended me. So, I shine up my vehicle. Fill up with gas and make the 30 minute drive to El Cajon for the Memorial Cruise for Woody.
Upon arriving in El Cajon on West Main Street, the El Cajon cruisers were extremely friendly and happy to see me. I parked and walked to were there was a group gathering to honor Woody. I met a mutual friend there and asked him where I should park my Fire Truck so that it would be in the best location for the cruise event. He told me to drive around the block and showed me where to park; so that's what I did.
Upon arriving in the new area designated for the Woody Memorial Cruise sponsored by the Good Ole Boys of S.D.; I was met with extreme rudeness. As if I was an outsider intruding on a private event. Basically, I was told to move my Fire Truck and get lost. My best guess as to why I was treated this way is because I was deemed an "outsider" by the Good Ole Boys.
My motivation for posting this story is to let those that know Woody and are good, friendly people; that I was there to honor this great man. That's as simple as it gets. I didn't make the one hour round trip drive and spend $100 in gas for any other purpose other than to honor Woody.
RIP Woody!

I made a couple of appearances with my Fire Truck today. Cute kids with very appreciative parents. A very rewarding experience for me (and I think the kids enjoyed the experience as well)

Yesterday's Drive By to celebrate the end of the school year for some youngsters. The kids came from many different houses. Everyone got a Fire Hat, an Activity Book and a candy cane.

I use the Lil Red Fire Truck for Drive-by Shout Outs, Birthday Parties and other Community Events.
There is absolutely No Charge for my services; but of course donations are not refused since gas mileage is about 5 mpg.
This is my small way of "improving the world" and "giving back."
I'm a High School Teacher and encourage the students to think of ways that they can make a positive impact in their lifetime. My goal is to make a positive impact in my "world."
