Mulled wine and a big pot of simmering spices are on the stove! Looking forward to a home filled with the scent of Christmas and a mug of warm wine by the outdoor fire to welcome solstice!

'Tis the season! What is on everyone's holiday schedule this season?

Saturday I'm hosting a first-ever solstice celebration, complete with pine boughs, dehydrated orange garland, and copious balsam candles.

My menu includes tradition winter foods inspired by Sweden: Swedish meatballs, shrimp toast, a beautiful spread of smoked salmon, and my very first chocolate orange Yule log decorated with almond pinecones.

We'll huddle around an outdoor fire, perfect for letting go of 2019 and welcoming 2020 with well-wishes and new intentions. The kiddos will be decorating oranges with whole cloves while the adults schmooze and enjoy hot mulled wine!
