Quite the opulent affair put together by Dahlia Occasions this Labor Day Weekend at The Art Institute of Dayton, Ohio. This is the most flowers I have had a hand in dealing with ever. 1,000 Hydrangeas for starters. I was 1 of 5 Floral Designers working on this Job. Isn't it Awesome?

It daylily bloom time in Ohio. These are beautiful flowers but a florist can't really use them. Pick one day and put in arrangement for next day and they are already dead. They are named Daylily because a bloom opens and closes up within 24 hours, hence DAY lily.

I love flowers that have meaning. Ones that someone has given me and it always makes me think of them when I see them blooming. The Purple is an old fashion Iris that my father gave me. It originated from my Great Grandmothers garden. That's some vintage stuff. The white Iris is from my mother so I will always think of her when it blooms. There are many more and some come with stories. I do love flowers!

I have never tip-toed thru the tulips, but I know about Flower petals. I used to walk on these Crabapple blossoms this time of year around Chicagoland. Barefoot. A lovely sensation. Mulch doesn't feel so good. Rose Petals are supposed to be romantic, but... They stain the sheets and are usually cold cause they were in the fridge. Try walking barefoot on the petals in the grass. A unique experience.

PJM Rhododendron and Grape Hyacinth, even the little ones might smell too strong for me. Some Tulips and more Daffodils Mid to late spring blooms, you can have daffodils for 6 weeks if you start with the yellow trumpets that go first then other varieties bloom later. Early Mid late spring bloomers.

Daffodils have a lovely sent. Bring some sunshine in your home. It will make you feel better to see them anytime you walk by. Nice light sent. Hyacinths can stay outside. Too strong of a smell for me.

This a front lawn. Wins my Heart! Crocus come up way before the grass grows. It was a couple of weeks ago. We are moving into Daffodils which are having a hard time with the late freezing spells. Yay Spring!

I love a creative proposal. This was in Chicago this winter. Guess we won't be seeing messages written in the snow anytime soon. It's spring time! Finally!!!

This is a Day Lilly called Walking on Sunshine which normally blooms in July and has been blooming this Oct/Nov. It's a wonderful story, if you care to hear it read on..... Years ago my dad discovered there was a Day Lilly Show in town. He woke up that morning, picked this flower and entered it in the Day Lilly Show. As a novice, not only did he win, he won Major/Minor award for whole category. This year in Early October I planted a piece of "Walking on Sunshine" on his grave. (very fitting name)
Is it the crazy weather or something else at play? Regardless it's a beautiful thing! THANKS DAD!

Daughters Best friend's wedding Yesterday. Beautiful, Both the Bride Erika Mullins Cox and the flowers. Fun time at the wedding. We love the Groom too!

Talk about a gorgeous fall color palette! Yesterday's bouquets were just stunning! I loved the touch of gold & the cabbage in the center of the bouquet!! So unique
