Wedding attire doesn’t need to be expensive!!!🤑

😱 This dress from was and this custom suit from were 👉🏽$500 TOTAL👈🏽 (a “typical” wedding dress can be $1,000 +alterations!!!)

📌(pin this post for future reference) There are so many awesome alternatives for what you can wear that don’t cost an arm and a leg & are *just* as beautiful 💫— rent, thrift, non-wedding stores, etc. Keep your mind open & explore all possibilities!!! 👁

As you tour wedding venues and check out bridal suites, try to see if there is a place where your photographer can hang your dress for a beautiful photo like this ✨ while you’re at it, get a custom hanger from awesome vendors for a personalized touch!

This shot was taken at the gazebo at ! They have 4 private spaces (3 outdoor and 1 indoor) that could be transformed to whatever you want them to be. We highly recommend them if you’re looking to get married *just* outside LA❣️

🔈Calling all sentimental and sustainable couples! Idea alert!!!💡

Weddings tend to use a lot of materials that cannot be reused or up-cycled. Many trash bins are filled after each event with paper and plastic. One thing that typically ends up being thrown are place cards 🔜🗑🚮

🔎Zoom in! Do you see that there are small pens right beside the table number 12 in this photo? It’s because it actually doubles as a notebook that guests can write messages in while waiting for the program to start or during dessert time. The couple will read all those sweet words & reminisce on their 12th year of marriage! 📖

We love the idea that not only will the paper *not* go to waste, but there is something to look forward to reading every year ❤️ we can’t think of a more beautiful way to remember your big day than through the eyes of your guests who love you dearly! ☺️

🙋🏽‍♀️This is also gives everyone a chance to give a message without overcrowding around a guest book. There have been many times when guests forget to sign because they avoided the line all night!

Micro-weddings and elopements have become a 2020 staple out of necessity. Transforming a backyard into a beautiful and intimate space like this can be overwhelming. That’s totally understandable👍🏽 It’s a lot to think about!!

But...
Sometimes all it takes is a trip to your closest for votives, battery-operated candles, real candles, eucalyptus garland, burlap runner, and golden plastic utensils 🤩

Is anyone else here guilty of *always* buying too much at Target?? There are just SO. MANY. GOOD. FINDS. Ugh, it can be a love/hate relationship 😅😅 do you agree?

💭 Picking your bridal party can be a bigger task than anticipated.

🔺Do you need to have an even number so photos are symmetrical?
🔺Do you choose your closest friends *now* or the buddies you grew up with?
🔺Do you invite other people to your bachelor party even if they’re not in the entourage?

So many questions & just 1️⃣ answer!
Tbh, we always advise “it’s upto you!!!” 👈🏽 this is the *key* to enjoying YOUR wedding.

Don’t feel pressured to subscribe to tradition for the sake of it! You don’t even need to have a bridal party if you don’t want one.🙅🏽
Don’t feel obliged to make someone a groomsman just because you were theirs at their wedding! They are different events with different circumstances.🤷🏽

We hope that as you envision you event, you really dig deep to find out what you truly want 🚜

What you see:
🌤🧡🌅☺️

What happened:
🤷🏽 the groomsmen each forgot 1 piece of attire & one of them was stuck in traffic *30 minutes before photos were scheduled* trying to buy a button down shirt
🤷🏽‍♀️ the bridesmaids left the bride’s veil and shoes in their airBnB; they only realized it when they arrived at the venue
🎥 two weeks earlier, the couple found out that the videographer they hired scammed them and many other couples out of their deposit $$

Our bride was completely unaware of any of these happening. This was literally us >> 🏃🏽‍♀️

🗣Find time to talk to them and ask them how they’ve been. If you can do so safely, spend time with them doing an activity you all enjoy 🤗

🙏🏽Take it a step further by looking around your community and offering support. Your family and friends may not ask, but they may need you to hold them up💛

💭What got you into wedding planning?
“To put it simply, I am a teacher who loved planning my wedding. I spent many hours each day searching for vendors, perusing forums, and verifying reviews for each vendor my husband and I ultimately selected for our big day. While some may find this stressful, I enjoyed the process every step of the way...until it was time to pay. I was a budget-conscious bride who did not want the gravity of our expenses get in the way of personalizing our wedding, and making it memorable, not only for us, but for all our guests as well!

Since then, I have been itching to get back into the wedding scene; thus, came bridenotzilla. I love stretching a budget without sacrificing overall experience!”

💭What are your hobbies?
“In the summer, I love to rock climb. I try to train at least twice a week with my now-husband. During winters, we go up to the mountains to snowboard (that's where he proposed!). It's safe to say we always try to explore a new place every year!”

💭What’s your message to couples planning their wedding?
“There's no better way to experience life with your partner than an adventure, and I'm so excited for yours to start! I can't wait to work with you 'til the days you say "I Do!".”

💭What got you into wedding planning?
“I was one of the first ones in my family and group of friends to get engaged. Without knowing many recent brides or grooms, I did a lot of research online to find the vendors that were right for us. I wanted to create an intimate and special gathering while staying under budget. I made sure that we spent on things that mattered most, and I'm proud to say that our overall expense was less than 50% of CA average at the time!

Little did I know that the professional relationships I built from my personal planning experience would lead to this. As a planner and coordinator, I find satisfaction when overcoming challenges. Mishaps inevitably happen at weddings, but the right mindset, skills, and resources can solve anything.”

💭What keeps you busy besides wedding planning?
​“Being an RN requires me to work a lot. On my down time, I spend quality time with my husband, our dogs, and our son, Bryce. I also binge watch shows on Netflix, and take every opportunity to do anything wine-related.”​
