Happy Spring this week!

We made collage p***y willow and Lilly flowers today in the studio!

Such a fun way to learn about different textures in nature and be able to replicate those feelings through art!

Today in the studio we learned about space in a picture. We read the story No Two are Alike. In this book we saw beautiful illustrations of winter scenes. We made a snowy scene with white snow in the foreground, beach trees in the middle ground with a moon is the background. We also talked about the negative space the trees make. We kept going back to texture and line from the weeks before.

Last week was all about texture and painting with different materials to get different textures. The lesson paired perfectly to the book Owl Babies.
We painted with cotton balls, combs, and tooth brushes. We also used an old gift card to make straight lines.

Got to spend this rainy Saturday morning with these two beautiful young artists!
We talked all about the change in seasons and the new colors we will start to see on our trees. We also learned that red and yellow make orange and those three colors are the warm colors in the rainbow!

Tonight last class was all of the elements of art into 1 piece! We have color, line, texture, shape, and space! We discussed foreground, mid-ground and background. This was SUCH a FUN project!!!!

Today's class was all about texture!!
Here is our beach sand castle texture scene with actual sand! That's right we painted with sand! We painted with squished foam brushes, combs, forks, and tooth brushes!

This was such a fun class that I think I will do a reel!

Second art class in the books!!

Today we learned all about lines!
Straight lines, scribble lines, rainbow lines, and super duper fairy swirly circle lines!

We made scribble people and line windsocks! These girls are the BEST! and I love teaching them some much!
