Last night I had the privilege of judging the Miss Lake Villa Pageant, and I am thrilled with the lovely young ladies who took the crowns! Actually, ALL of the girls who participated were beautiful inside and out. 🥰

Pageantry and the local Miss programs are excellent for young women to gain confidence, strong communication skills, social and community awareness, poise, philanthropy… there just so happens to be the added bonus of wearing a crown and pretty dresses everywhere!

If you haven’t considered the Miss program for your daughters, I encourage you to do so for next year! As Miss Lake Villa 2003, I can tell you from personal experience that I got a lot more out of it than bragging rights… 😅😍

Sooo many congratulations to all the young ladies who rocked the stage last night!

Whew! What a whirlwind these past few weeks have been! 😮‍💨 To say I’m grateful for my accounts with the local school districts would be an understatement. This week, we were honored to take on the hefty task of not just one graduation order, but FOUR!! 😳 Naturally, not nearly as many pictures of what we made was taken… but here’s what we’ve got…

Last weekend was Lakes High School’s Prom, and the theme was… 🪩 DISCO!!🕺🏼💃 It was so much fun to craft centerpieces in bright, bold colors, featuring none other than the 70s era classic, Gerbera Daisy! 🌼

Not to mention, we had disco balls and LED lights

Yesterday’s wedding was pretty darn special. We had the honor, and privilege, to assist our dear friend, and fellow designer, Sharon Lea on the design and execution of floral and decor for her youngest daughter’s wedding day. 🥰 Classic white wedding at The Riviera Ballroom, in Lake Geneva. A mid-century modern backdrop, with brass and gold finishes, and cool, green, brick walls. Sounds weird, but it was gorgeous! 😍 Congratulations Allyson & Dylan! Hi, I’m Andrea!

Welcome to my business page. I’m the owner and lead floral designer with Larkspur & Leo. My florist career began in January 2018, when my family took over Laura’s Flower Shoppe in Lake Villa, IL, which I both operated and designed for. I am a self-taught floral designer, lucky enough to have had support and guidance by other, AIFD-certified, and hugely talented, floral designers in my area. Although I’m a very good copy-cat, and can conform to just about any floral design, the style I am most drawn to may be considered garden-inspired, a little bit bohemian, sometimes rustic, yet clean and focused. Flowers were never truly a passion of mine... to tell you the truth, I knew nothing about flowers before 2018! What I love about floristry, floral design, and weddings/events mostly has to do with the people involved. I love the creative ideas brides come up with for their wedding; I am moved by the love and compassion people have for their loved ones when they pass; and it’s always a challenge coming up with new ways to manipulate flowers to create the perfect piece for a customer. All of this makes for fun, exciting, stressful (in a good way... mostly), and completely gratifying work. I hope you like my creations, and I hope for the opportunity to work with you!
