🌟 Exciting news from the Heart of Ulverston Awards! 🌟

We are delighted to share that we raised an amazing £370 through the sale of beautiful centre-pieces created by Bluebell and Ivy and three lovely cherry blossom trees.

This amount will be split equally between St Mary's Hospice and J F Hornby & Co's 'Have a Heart' Campaign, supporting two wonderful causes that make a huge difference in our community. 💖

He undergoes dialysis four times a week and uses a wheelchair, yet he tackles life with boundless energy and a mischievous glint in his eye. Ollie refuses to let his illness define him. He enjoys playing with friends, attending Barrow Rugby games with his brother, and joining family bike rides on his specially adapted hand bike. With his parents Holly and Dom by his side, Ollie faces each day's battles with courage and resilience.

Since 2022, Emily has faced unimaginable pain after losing her beloved sister, Heather, to su***de at the age of 22. Despite her grief, Emily has shown immense courage and dedication.
She has tirelessly raised awareness about mental health, serving as a Girl Guides leader and creating the Twinkle programme in honour of Heather. This initiative, now adopted by schools and colleges, encourages young people to nurture their inner twinkle. Described as "one of the bravest and hard-working ladies" by those who nominated her, Suzanne has shown incredible strength during tough times. As the sole earner while her husband battled health issues including Covid, liver failure, and cancer, Suzanne continued working two jobs while caring for him through the night and taking him to hospital appointments. Despite facing unimaginable challenges, Suzanne's dedication to her team and job never wavered. Sadly, her husband lost his battle with cancer earlier this year.

Her employer praised her dedication, saying, "I don't know anyone who would have been such a dedicated employee while going through such a sad time in her life." ❤️

Rumor has it that Mark practically lives at the Ulverston Leisure Centre, dedicating countless hours to the Ulverston Otters Swimming Club. Often poolside by 6:30 am and back again in the evenings, his commitment to training and developing young swimmers is truly remarkable.
