Want to know our number 1 tip on a seamless timeline?!

✨BUFFER TIME✨

When it comes to creating a timeline for your wedding, our most important advice is to make sure you give yourself some, what we call, “buffer” time! Unexpected obstacles can happen and the last thing you need to do is feel stressed because your timeline is off and everything begins to fall behind. There are three areas we find most important to make sure you include buffer time.

✨ Hair and Makeup.

We recommend you add 30-60 minutes longer than you think you’ll need. This will allow for a “do over” if you or someone in your bridal party isn’t happy with the results. Or if someone is running late. If you are right on schedule? Perfect! Use the extra time to take a breath and relax, do final touch ups, or have something to eat/drink (important) before everyone gets dressed.

✨Pre-Wedding Photo’s.

We would say add on 15-20 minutes more to every group photo (bride & groom, bridal party, family). Your photographer will appreciate it and it will give him/her the opportunity to take that “one more” perfect picture. Also, make sure the photo shoot is completed at least one hour before the start of your ceremony.

✨Pre-Dinner Events.

The last thing you want is to have your guests served a cold dinner. To prevent that from happening, it’s imperative that your guests are seated in a timely manner for the pre-dinner events. We suggest that you start seating at least 15-20 minutes before the planned start time of the bridal party introductions. If speeches are going to be made before dinner, ask your speakers for a time check and take that into consideration for your buffer time.

Are you planning a first look?! Check out some pros and cons below … ⬇️

Pros:
✨ You get to embrace each other right away! (Hug, kiss, laugh, cry, compliment!!!)
✨ You get to spend more time together on your wedding day.
✨ It can calm the pre ceremony jitters.
✨ You can get more pictures done before the ceremony which also means — you could join cocktail hour, and you don’t have to worry about the sun going down and rushing outside photos!
✨ Your hair and makeup will be fresh for your bride and groom portraits.
✨ You can do personal/private vows.

Cons:
✨ Fear of not getting the reaction you were expecting down the aisle.
✨ You have to start the day earlier to make time before the ceremony.
✨ Some traditions say it is bad luck to see the bride before the ceremony.
✨ If you have an early ceremony time - doing a first look could mean pictures would be in harsh sunlight and not ideal.

It’s hard to find the words to best describe the pure joy this wedding album has brought us. As we scrolled through the images, the first thing we noticed was that they were together in every single picture at their reception. We always encourage our couples to spend some alone time together, and to keep each other close during the celebration. It’s easy to get separated when everyone wants to talk to, dance with, or have a toast with you!

Their happiness and love for each other radiates in every picture … we just had to share a glimpse of it with you! 🥹🫶

A little bit about us for those of you who are new:

- We love spending time with our families (Kyle, with her husband, Jonathan, and their twin boys Bear and Boone. And Rachel, with her husband, Brandon, and their fur-baby Luna).

- After a long day of planning weddings and events, we are usually cheers-ing with a cold glass of pink bubbles.

- We both have a passion for travel — if your wedding is outside of Michigan, we will gladly hop on a plane to assist you!

- Dedicating a few minutes to “alone time” during your wedding is something we always make room for in our timelines. You’ll be shocked at how quickly the day goes by!
