I am so incredibly excited about this event! I've been really wanting to somehow have more goth s**t on my side of the bay, so Jason Kiger and I decided make it happen! Speakeasy Central is pretty much my favorite place in St Pete aside from my own house, and and I hope you all will come check it out! It's a kava bar, so no alcohol. But honestly, having an alternative to booze heavy events is a plus in my opinion.

I highly recommend checking out this new EP by Kenyan producer Slikback. He specializes in aggressive and noise influenced bass beats that I can't help but move to. There are some more trancy atmospheric Right from the start with the track KENEKI, I was hoooked. It's nonstop energy throughout with some trancy atmospheric aftercare at the end. A real pro-listen.

I’ve been watching a lot of interviews like this one with ZULI lately, trying to get an idea of artists’ influences, head spaces and learning more about how they want to actually be presented. He points out that there’s a tendency to characterize musicians from Egypt or the Middle East at large as monolithic or similar in some way, which is so much what I want to stay away from. There’s such an insane variety of really unique and SUPER GOOD music that I love all over the place and I want more people to know about it. Every scene, every label/collective/crew has their own special thing they bring to the table. So hopefully my crazy cratedigging and obsessive listening will bring some of that to more ears. That’s essentially my mission.
