Finally my Christmas wreath is up. I’ve been so busy so far this December that it’s taken me till now to get this made - but isn’t she a wild beauty! All my materials were sourced locally and it was made on a eco sustainable base of straw and moss so no plastic nasties!

A trio of nature: creating these has been such a joy. The smell in my studio is reminiscent of a summer meadow. I’ve been busy making more wreaths as I’m off to my first craft fair this weekend so these will take pride of place on my stall - until then I get to enjoy them for a little while…

Shades of blue, white and green.
The main cutting patch is looking so pretty now all the cornflowers are coming into bloom - most of these I’ll be cutting for drying but I’ll keep some for display, along with some of the ammi majus as it’ll look gorgeous in a jug on my mantelpiece!

A ring of floral pretty-ness in willow… Looking forward to a weekend of sunshine - off to my plot early today to tend my flowers, then some more crafting on the table in the garden I think, as it’s already such a beautiful day.
Hope you have a lovely day too everyone and enjoy the summer sun (and remember the sun cream - that’s the mother in me coming out!😁)

Hi, I’m Stephanie, the face behind on my little plot where I grow a wide variety of flowers and grasses – in lots of different hues and texture - some for drying, some intended as cut flowers for my home, or for friends and family, and a range of vegetables and fruit, all of which keeps me very busy, but very happy as I love gardening!
I first started working with dry flowers many years ago, then sadly they fell out of fashion and I hung up my floristry tools while I brought up my then young family. Family has always been important to me and, although my daughter and son are now fully grown, I still spend a lot of time with them. I’m also blessed to have two beautiful grandchildren now, who fill my heart with their happiness and joy of life.
It was my daughter who suggested I started to work with everlasting flowers again – she remembered the floral baskets and wreaths I made for my family and friends as gifts, and she knew how much pleasure I had in creating them. And happily everlasting flowers are now back in fashion so I’m overjoyed to be able to work with such beauty again. The muted scent and gentle hues of dried flowers now fill my days, as I spend time in my little studio working on my new botanical creations. So here I am, many years later, a whole lot wiser I hope, but still that young woman at heart with an innate love of nature and all it’s beauty, which I hope to share with you all.

I’ve fallen in love with the delicate pastel hues and textures of everlasting flowers. If I could only capture the smell of them in a photograph - soft and dusky like a warm summer’s evening…

Designed by nature

Don’t you just love the sight of colourful tiny wildflowers that bloom everywhere in our hedgerows in the Spring? Or the feel of Summer sun and smell of roses in the Summer; the crunch of crisp brown leaves under your boots as you take an Autumn walk, or tiny snowdrops peaking out from the frosty grass on a crisp Winter‘s day?

Isn’t nature wonderful? I think so, so I wanted to craft pieces which encapsulated the wonder of our countryside for you to enjoy. All of my work is handmade and each piece is unique, as unique as you are. In the world we live in now we often don’t allow ourselves the time to slow down, to smell the flowers, to feel the grass beneath our feet or to stand still and just enjoy the view. So my main goal is to make YOU feel good, and to feel a little step closer to nature.
