Have you heard of the 'fiver' birthday gift concept? It's when you ask party guests to not bring a gift and instead bring a $5 note with a handmade card. It is something I've done for years with my own children and works a treat! Parents will thank you for not having to visit the shop searching for a gift, and your child can buy something they truly want!

This is how you safely blow out candles in 2020! Mr 8 had a very small (and safe) party today. We used the nature party kit and kept each kid in the same spot for eating. And he LOVED his aqua coloured vanilla buttercream cake from Social Manna (that he decorated himself). 🥳 🎉

DONATION TIME // It’s really hard to think about parties when Australia is experiencing a climate crisis. So it seems fitting that our first ever donation will be to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal. If these bushfires tell us anything it’s that IT IS TIME TO CHANGE. Choose one thing you’re going to concentrate on that will help the planet (Refuse takeaway coffee cups? Walk more? Give up fast fashion?) there are loads of ways you can make an impact and it just starts with one action, and it WILL have a ripple effect. Also, do us a solid and tell all your friends about so everybody can enjoy a waste free party!

NEW BUNTING! We’ve just expanded our collection so nearly every kit has a matching set of bunting decorations! These have been lovingly made by our seamstress extraordinaire Jenna from mostly upcycled fabrics. AND it’s arrived just in time as ALL our kits are booked out this weekend. Party season has arrived!

We’re so excited to reveal our rainbow bunting! Our local seamstress extraordinaire Jenna managed to find about 20% of it secondhand. This will make an instant party statement at your next party. 💣PLASTIC FREE WATER BOMBS!! 💦 This warm weather has us already thinking about summer parties so we’re super excited to be supplying these to our community! Forget your typical water balloons that, once popped, litter the ground with tiny pieces of plastic - these are REUSABLE water bombs! They have been lovingly crocheted by local legend Colleen. How does it work exactly? First you create one or more ‘refill’ stations (a bucket of water) then throw the bombs in the bucket! The water bombs soak up water which means they can be soaked again and again for constant play. My boys have been road-testing the bombs and they give them two (very wet) thumbs up! Check out my stories for some footage of the bombs in action 💣 .
