If you’ve been following me since 2020, first off THANK YOU 🫶🏼, you may remember how mind blown 🤯 I was when I first heard of taking dahlia cuttings during the Floret workshop. That year I tried some, and they worked until one day I was watering everything and the water pitcher hit my dahlia cutting tray and I watch it flip after flip in slow motion until it smashed onto the ground killing each and every one of them. 🙈 Since then I’ve tried multiple times and been unsuccessful each year. After watching my flower friend Maria of @floras_garden_ be so successful in dahlia cuttings I finally picked her brain on what she’s been doing to determine where I have been going wrong these past years. First flush of the Snapdragons are DUNZO! 🌸🐉 These were a labor of L🖤VE this year, and boy oh boy did they not disappoint! 🤩 I started these from teeny tiny seeds in January!! My first round barely half of them germinated, but round two and three were much better 👏🏼 👏🏼 Remember that wicked hail storm I cried about?! These were the only flowers that we hurt by the hail, but in return the hail actually did the “pinching” for me which gave you and me more stems to enjoy! After last season’s kittywampus stems I knew I had to put up netting for support, somehow I was on the ball and got the netting put up early too! 👏🏼👏🏼 I cannot wait for the fall flush to start! I have a couple bunches left if you want to grab one!
