To all of our wrestling brothers and sisters we are writing to share some exciting news! We are excited to announce we have opened the “Scrap Lab”. What in the world is the Scrap Lab? Let us start by saying what it is not. It is NOT a club! Clubs have: gear, monthly or season dues, go to tournaments, attendance expectations, conditioning, dual teams and more. The Scrap Lab is a place to train wrestling. It is a facility for wrestlers of all ages, gender and ability to come and train. We DO NOT want you to leave your club. We DO NOT have an interest in taking ANY credit for a wrestler’s success. There are many great clubs locally. If you need one DM me and I’ll put you in touch with one of them. We have commitments from some great wrestling coaches and minds and are always looking for more to run practice and get paid to do so. Let us be clear. THIS IS NOT A MONEY MAKER. Quite the opposite. It is a money loser and we are good with that! When a coach runs practice at the Scrap Lab he keeps the fee generated from the wrestlers in attendance. I will say if we start to get great attendance at some point we would like to build up a “Coaches fund” because we are going to guarantee a certain amount to run a practice and should we not get many kids on a given night we’d like to not have to keep going into our pockets to pay coaches (but that’s a ways off).
How does it work?
The address is: 2605 S. 156 Circle
Practice will be from 6:00-7:45 Monday (3/20) to Thursday (3/24)
Cost will be 10 dollars cash (we have Venmo but are working on a more permanent solution stand by)
You MUST have a valid U.S.A. wrestling card to attend
Each wrestler must have a release signed by a parent prior to the first practice (they will be available at the lab)
Todd Meneely will be running practice all week and we will be training freestyle
After this week the cost will be 15 dollars per practice
We will be limiting practice this week to the first 20 or so wrestlers.
Private lessons are available. DM me for pricing and times and again, the money goes to the coach.
Sorry for the long post! Let’s goooooo!!!!
