Wow 🤩 huge congratulations to Sensei Sari for taking 🥈 runner-up at the Wadokai International Cup 2025! Losing only 2-3 in the finals against Japan 🇯🇵 . At the final bow all competitors were wearing Japanese national badge 🇯🇵 — except for our very own Sensei Sari 😜. You’ve truly put New Zealand on the map 😎 and made our little club shine 🥰.

Sensei Jessie lost the first round of kumite, but pushed through to the Top 8 in kata, just missing the medal rounds.

Senpai Yuri had a bye in the first round, then faced the eventual division champion from Japan 🇯🇵 with an incredibly sharp kata. Tough draw, but a great experience.

The whole team is so proud ❤️. What an unforgettable day of spirit, skill, and learning together on the tatami. 🥋✨

Huge congratulations to both 瑠威 and 稜馬—our kids are truly inspired by your achievements!

Sensei Jessie also got the chance to take photos with the top 4 Kata players as well as the Kumite Champion- 歌音 (from Arakawa Sensei’s dojo) Making it an unforgettable experience for everyone!

第58回和道會全國空手道比賽 (All Japan Wadokai Nationals) went by in a flash with so many courts running at once. Many of our team made it through to the second round before being stopped there. The level of competition was really high, and it was inspiring to see the true budo spirit on the tatami. A great learning experience for our team.

🌅 Morning Training & Evening Connections 🌅
What a day for the team! We united with Auckland Wadokai at the Budokan for another fantastic session ran by Arakawa Sensei —covering all Wado kata, including Jion and Jitte, and wrapping up with kumite to top it off. 💥 Everyone trained hard and had a blast!

It was also Tobias’s second day with his homestay family—a great cultural experience alongside the karate journey. 🏠✨

Later in the evening, Jessie Sensei joined training at Arakawa Dojo with Shimura Sensei and also caught up with Honami Sensei. Always great to see familiar faces and share the spirit of Wado together. 🥋✨

We had an awesome training session with the shiramizukarate team, the Australia team, and the Bulgaria team! 🥋✨

A huge thank you to Arakawa Sensei for not only the incredible training but also for the delicious food afterwards. 🙏🍽️

It was truly eye-opening for our team to witness the level of discipline shown during training — this is exactly the spirit and art we aspire to learn and embody. 💪🔥

Good luck to all the players competing in the All Japan Nationals and the International Cup — we will all give our best! 🇯🇵🌏
