Flowers 💐 everywhere !! Anyone else get obsessions ??? I wish I had some before photos as this fireplace was a new addition - the original was very damaged. However when this one arrived the stone had a very unattractive yellow tinge. After weeks of not liking it I got out some furniture wax and mixed dabs of grey paint with it and rubbed it in … now the stone looks a much more natural colour. And then the gorgeous @staceys_boutique_bouquets popped over for a flower session … we had a lot of fun and I’m so pleased with the end result. Now instead of the mantle being a dumping ground full of clutter it looks like this !!!! Even Betty the dog enjoyed doing it chewing on the odd stem xx Happy Sunday everyone ###

Meet Betty !! Polstrong has a new guard dog ( she is rubbish and will do anything for a tummy tickle !!! ) we love her x Officially adopted yesterday she has settled in nicely … she loves a cuddle, loves the beach, and loves to snuggle up next to the aga and snor.

So … anyone doing a Reno however small or large will know it alway costs more than you thought and takes longer than you bargained on !!! When we finally got to doing the kitchen we were at our limit on loans and our budget was teeny tiny. Time to get creative !!! My first port of call was @rehomeoutlet I had been scouring their website for ages … they have kitchens and bathrooms that need rehoming .. some are in showrooms / ex display and some, like mine, was in a very grand house and they were redoing the kitchen. I negotiated just buying the island and within a day the deal was done ! When we collected it (dissembled) it was time to get to work. We removed the oven and sink and I got the job of sanding and painting it. I chose James blue from @littlegreenepaintcompany to match the units - love this colour ! I had no idea how blinking expensive worktops are !!! So went to @worktopexpress and got two length a of oak top which made it soooooo much cheaper than one piece. We glued them together down the middle and you really can’t tell. The gap where the oven was housed was used was used for extra shelving - painted them and made them fit the brilliant rattan baskets from @ikeauk - you can never have enough rattan !!!! Handles … good old @bandq_uk came to the rescue and they worked out at about 1.50 each !!! All in all I have the kitchen I couldn’t afford new. I can’t lie it was a bit of a faff but I would do it all again to save the £’s.

This room had an old electric shower over a very tired fitted bath and we called it the spider room !!! It was a never-ending little room as there were so many nooks and crannies that needed filling and sanding or replacing … all the walls were rendered, giving a smooth and clean finish I’ve always wanted a little alcove bath so tried to create one here … when it all gets too much I can have a bath, close the curtain, shut out the world, and relax …. Slightly obsessed with scalloped edges at the moment so got some pin planks from @bandq_uk and drew around a mug and then cut it out and bobs your uncle !!! The bath was one I had in the shed saved from somewhere on my house moves The taps, sink and loo are all from the lovely Sam at @ckkitchens Flooring - @karndean Paint @farrowandball Borrowed light and de nimmes Mirror @36boutique Towels @whitecompany Tiles @wallsandfloors Window blind @williammorris made by @exeterfabrics Lights @bathroomstudio Linen drapes @johnlewis All in all I’m happy !!! So this weekend was a special one ….. my baby’s 21st. I knew it would be emotional because ….. I am emotional …. I cry at the drop of a hat!! I always wanted a baby girl - I wanted to have the special bond I had with my mum - a life long best friend x What made this weekend special was the love of the people around us .. just a very small gathering of family and friends with laughter and tears (mine!) and possibly one too many drinks !!! Happy birthday Grace … love you always 💕

You know when you have an idea for a room and before you even start working on it, it’s already perfect in your head? That’s how I feel about the Ceremony Room.
