She currently holds 4 Ohio State records —which are the deadlift, deadlift p/p, deadlift SL, and Total records for the Masters 1b -60kg weight class.

Ecstasy enjoys powerlifting as well as CrossFit and has worked at almost all of SOPL’s powerlifting events, even before becoming a referee this past year.
Ecstasy is an industrial systems engineer and animal lover.

My name is Tony Kinnamon. I am the other half of Southern Ohio Powerlifting. I am a competitive lifter in the Masters 2 -125kg division, State Level Referee since 2020 who is currently one session away from officially being a National Referee and Meet Director with 9 Meets under my belt. I have held a total of 59 Ohio State Powerlifting Records across 2 Federations, been a National Champion, a World Champion in the Masters 2 Division and competed at The Arnold Sports Festival. I absolutely love powerlifting and the lifters so when Cyndi Kinnamon suggested that we become referees and then Meet Directors I couldn’t think of a better way to stay involved in the sport even after my lifting career is over. I love seeing all of the hard work and dedication pay off on the platform (this is something that you don’t always get to see when you are competing). I can’t wait to see everybody kill it July 1st!

Hello! My name is Amanda LaCass and I’ve been competing in USAPL since 2017. I compete in the 67.5kg Women’s Raw Open division and have competed in a total of 12 meets, including at the Arnold Sports Festival and USAPL Raw Nationals.
I became a referee last year because I wanted to give back to the sport that has given so much to me. I absolutely LOVE powerlifting, and want to be involved in as many ways as possible. My favorite thing about being a referee is seeing first-time competitors fall in love with the sport and seeing lifters of all levels celebrating their accomplishments on the platform. Powerlifting is an amazing sport with such an incredible community, and I am so thankful to be a part of it.

Hoping to do Meet the Meet Directors AND Meet the Referee spotlights this week leading up to the meet, if I can get everything together!

I know many of you know us but many of you probably don’t, so I thought this would be great.
•
While I’m gathering info and putting it together into more posts for the platform refs for this meet, I’ll start off with us…who you know as 😊
and I’ll start with myself.
💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
My name is Cyndi Kinnamon. I have competed a few times but haven’t competed much in a few years because of a back/ hip injury.
It’s because of this that I really started running competitions because I wanted to be part of the sport I love even if I couldn’t compete. (Maybe again someday soon?!?🤪)
I’ll be 49 years young this year so almost a Masters 2 👍🏻
I am a National level referee and would be eligible to sit for my Cat 2 exam at the Arnold next year if I get my needed chair time in and decide I want to do that.
I REALLY enjoy the game day coaching/ handling aspect of this sport…because there can be a bit of strategy, calculation and knowing of the rules that can greatly benefit you in competition, especially at higher level competition. That interests me greatly.
We have 2 kids—aged 31 & 26, both married, and we have 1 grand baby girl who is the greatest of course😊
The first meet I ever was a Meet Director for was in 2020 during restrictions and actually had to be postponed for a few months due to that as well.
I’ve been a referee with for 4 years and have been Meet Director for I think 9 competitions.

(Signs will be up)

SOPL staff, Athletes, and Coaches with the appropriate wrist bands ONLY are allowed in the warm up area, NO EXCEPTIONS!

As always…we fully expect our athletes to treat meet venues and equipment with respect, put equipment back in appropriate spaces, clean up their trash etc etc. and appreciate them doing so. ✌🏻

There really are no words to express how grateful we are for those who enable us, in any way shape or form, to bring the platform out and host powerlifting competitions.
We thank each and every athlete that trusts us to bring them a great powerlifting experience by signing up for our events.
That being said…we couldn’t have powerlifting competitions without the many hours of work that’s out in by referees, the spot/load team, and hospitality staff and we thank them all SO much.

We also thank our sponsors for each meet we’ve ever had.
This past weekend’s event sponsor, made all sorts of goodies available to the athletes and also supplied the open & masters male and female best lifters with a prize package of A7 wrist wraps, deadlift straps, headbands, water jugs, wrist bands, and other items.
