Wild Vine Floral Austin, TX I aim to bring some natural beauty inside. I am committed to sourcing local flowers. We only use non-toxic materials.

I use the abundance of the season and add what is in bloom in the garden, creating an artisanal arrangement with locally grown blooms and foliage. “Sustainability- Grown not Flown”
At Wild Vine Floral, the majority of our flowers come from our own cutting garden and additional product is sourced from local Central Texas flower farms*. This commitment to “keeping it local” means that your flowers g

et to you fresher & quicker, giving you longer naturally lasting blooms that have a smaller ecological footprint than those sourced out-of-state or internationally. We never use floral foam, sprays, bleach or dye in our products. Our gardening practice is an organic, holistic approach, though not certified organic. We want to have a minimal impact on our environment and work to help educate others to make purchases this way in order to leave a better planet for our future generations. We use our own chicken and rabbit manure, as well as worm castings, in our compost to fertilize our garden’s soil. We source seeds from small companies, using non-GMO & non-invasive species, in addition to saving our own seeds. We also share seeds through a seed exchange whenever we have surplus to give to our community. Our perennial garden incorporates native and drought tolerant species that thrive in the Austin area including herbs that delight your sense of smell. Attention to what is blooming in the native Texas landscape delights our sense of seasons as they change. (For example, Zinnias bloom in Summer and Sweet Peas flourish in Spring.) Seasonal floral arrangements are one of life's sweet joys. Our Flower Club subscription reuses mason jars, with an exchange at each delivery to lower unneeded waste.

Last night
the rain
spoke to me
slowly, saying,
what joy
to come falling
out of the brisk cloud,
to be happy again
in a new way
on the earth! 🌧️

It’s good to leave each day behind,
Like flowing water, free of sadness.
Yesterday is gone and its tale told.
Today new seeds are growing

True gardeners cannot bear a glove
Between the sure touch and the tender root,
Must let their hands grow knotted as they move
With a rough sensitivity about
Under the earth, between the rock and shoot,
Never to bruise or wound the hidden fruit.
And so I watched my mother's hands grow scarred,
She who could heal the wounded plant or friend
With the same vulnerable yet rigorous love;
I minded once to see her beauty gnarled,
But now her truth is given me to live,
As I learn for myself we must be hard
To move among the tender with an open hand,
And to stay sensitive up to the end
Pay with some toughness for a gentle world.

It’s been hard to pretend things aren’t *very depressing* lately in just about every category, but found brief solace with a custom wreath that forced me to have a nice *be here now* afternoon plus how thankful for air conditioning & dried flowers from when it still rained & watering my garden didn’t make me feel so dang guilty like it does lately…☀️🌞☀️🌞
