Cosplay is for EVERYONE to enjoy. The word PLAY is literally in the word, and that means that NO ONE has the right to take enjoyment from anyone who cosplays, period!
It DOESN'T matter your Race, Sexual Orientation, Body Type, Medical Condition or Skill Level.
You can be WHOMEVER you wish, WHENEVER you wish, WHEREVER you wish, and you should ALWAYS feel SAFE doing it.
If someone makes you feel unsafe, unwelcome, or uncomfortable over who you’re cosplaying, please know that you are not the problem. It's the person who is making you feel that way problem. You are not alone. There are safe spaces, events, and like-minded people in the cosplay community that will support, encourage, defend, lift up and celebrate you.
Speaking specifically for myself, my inbox, across all of my platforms and events, are always open. If the or myself has a table at any event, our tables are safe spaces. If you’re ever being bullied or made to feel unsafe or uncomfortable at any of my events ( ), please don’t hesitate to come to me, my staff, or security.
I LOVE YOU ALL, please stay strong, I know there's a lot of heavy stuff happening in the world today, cosplay is suppose to be an escape not an added stressor.
To my BLACK Cosplayers specifically, you matter, you are beautiful, and you are amazingly talented! Please continue to shine bright! We can't afford any of you to dim! This last part may sound contradictory to the statement above, but this is highlighting pride for who I am and who I represent. I also represent plus size, I represent women that cosplay all genders I represent inclusivity. This is showing pride in the struggles of my ancestors who gave me my freedom to be able to play in this wonderful world and community of cosplay.
