Wanted:

Debs Dragons is growing and looking for a few special people part-time, to be subcontractors for Debs Dragons Wildlife Shows( around your schedule )

* must have dependable 4-door transportation with air-conditioning

* must love misunderstood creatures, including snakes, lizards, insects, scorpions, and tarantulas

*must enjoy public speaking

* must have amazingly good vibes 🙂

* must have or get fingerprint clearance card

Will train

$80-$125 per show 45 mins-1 hour and 15 mins

All within metropolitan area

Description: job duties include presenting and educating animals and helping others to interact with the animals, for birthday parties, Summer Camp, corporate events, etc.

TOP TEN CREEPY CREATURES: Tarantulas are one of the most misunderstood creatures. Due to its size and 8 furry legs, giant fangs, 8 eyes and ominous look, it gets its reputation from the movies and stories that are more like scary campfire lore. Tarantulas do have venom, and fangs, but their bite, though it does hurt, has very little effect from the venom itself. It’s about the effect of a mosquito bite. I’ve been bitten during the catching and releasing of many tarantulas, as well as Debs Dragons own tarantulas. The tarantulas pictured in these photos are females from South America as well as the U.S. and can live up to 45 years in captivity. The males however live for a much shorter life span. Do you know why that is? If this is one of your top ten fears and you want to overcome this fear, message us for more info.

It's Tarantula Tuesday! And for today's entry we have the Happy Face Spider! Yes it's real. They live on Hawaii and...well...just smile. How can you not when this spider is smiling back at you! Ha! Enjoy... :-)

It's Tarantula Tuesday!! Here's a Spiny Orb Weaver spider. You can find these all over the world. They are tiny, around 5-9mm long so you would have to look hard but they may be in your own backyard!

It's Tarantula Tuesday! Well since it's Thanksgiving...we couldn't find a turkey spider, but how about one that lives in Turkey? This is the Mediterranean Black Widow. A little more colorful than the North American black widow and instead of the red hourglass in its belly, this one is painted more like an Easter egg. Still just as toxic though!

Happy Tarantula Tuesday! Here is the beautiful Peacock Spider, AKA Maratus spider. These little (less than .2 inch) arachnids dance to show off their colorful rears. And, get this, The two newest species are named Sparklemuffin and Skeletorus. Enjoy!
