About Matador Events
Teddy Dario organized the longest-running weekly retro-themed night in the Philippines. This event has been sweeping the retro dance scene off its feet since 2003 and still going strong.
The exciting journey started with DecaDance in Dreambar (at the former location of Giraffe Bar) in May, 2003 where it immediately earned its reputation as the hottest weekly party in the Philippine nightlife scene. DecaDance then moved to Soleil/Mezze in late 2004 until finally finding a more permanent home in Jill's @ The Fort where it was based from early 2005 to late 2012, eventually moving to Aracama in BGC for a year. He then started Retro Love at Opus in Resorts World, turning the bar upside down with droves of habitues coming to the weekly Tuesday night gig.
Since then, he has also built loyal followings for his themed nights in the plush Salon de Ning at the Peninsula Manila and Prive in BGC. His weekly throwback nights continued to electrify thousands of retro junkies every Retro Night Friday and Saturday Dance Fever, initially in Wild Flour Rockwell in September 2018. Due to the massive popularity of his weekends in Wild Flour Rockwell, his retro home had to be moved to the much larger Wild Flour BGC in January 2020, with the best DJs playing top-quality dance music from the disco era of the late 70s to the club hits of the early 2000s.
With a massive following across all age groups, his events are undisputedly the most dominating force in the country's lively retro scene. Dance music never sounded this good!
