Me and Brian Crosby, formerly of house Bell X1, will be doing some shows together in April in lovely rooms with pianos...

He will play a set of beautiful piano music, and then I will play a set of songs, and then we'll do some things together - old and new tunes like My Bones a Scaffold. We are working on some new music that we're excited to debut at these shows.

in: We are delighted to be one of a small select number of venues to host W***y Mason & the Alpha Gals this November the 15th on their small low key tour of Ireland before returning in 2025 with a full band. W***y should need introduction but if you're curious, just google his song 'oxygen' and you most probably will get an 'Oh yeah' moment!

This is an opportunity to see W***y & the Alpha Gals in a very unique, cosy, intimate setting lke no other.

It is an incredibly important and an historic move that Minister Catherine Martin T.D. and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media made yesterday in acknowledging the work that the grassroots music industry, venues, bookers, workers, small promoters and producers do in towns all over Ireland through the small venues in their communities.

Music needs a place to develop and grow in the same way as any other art discipline and the move to stop seeing grassroots music venues and events as ‘commercial’ is an acknowledgment that has long been needed in our country.

We are very much looking forward to seeing how the support is rolled out and hope that it can be woven into the thread of budget support for good.

The grass roots venues and events in Ireland are the backbone that has developed artists from Hozier to Mary Coughlan, from Ye Vagabonds to Imelda May. They continue to support musicians and band of all shapes and sizes through risk and pure and honest hard work and this funding will hopefully be the difference between continuing or not, for alot of grassroots venues and event producers and musicians.

All you silly billies in Dublin and Cork have officially lost in the old landmark case - Snooze V Lose.

Vicar Street and The Everyman are now SOLD OUT for this beautiful Lisa Hannigan show, straight from the string-y, sing-y, harmony filled shows that filled the Irish Arts Center in New York earlier this year.

So now you’ll have to get yizzer selves a B+B or a designated driver and get to one of the others. Next time maybe you’ll listen to yer Aunty Úna, hah?
