🤩Newton Longville Village Show🤩
The day is finally here!

Entries are being put on display from 8am - 10.30am in the hall ready for judging and for display at 12.30pm.

Stalls and pictches are being set up for a 12.30pm start to the fete. The weather looks kind so come along and enjoy all the stalls, food and entertainment on offer. Don't forget to bring cash and change for some stalls too.

Come and compete in the Grand Welly Wanging Contest. Some great fun to be had for the pride of winning a Golden Welly trophy!

Scarecrows are being placed outside homes with pride. Try and find them and share pictures.

And don't forget to come along to the Crooked Billet where the fun continues from 5pm at our After Show Party. Filled with live music, in house food, bar and food stalls, Paul and Ness are ready to be the hosts with the most!

Thank you again to our sponsors, the Parish Council and to all involved in the organisation, set up and management of the whole day. The show really couldn't go on without you. We hope you all have a fantastic day enjoying all that our wonderful village has to offer!

Our friends at Curly Tails are open on Village Show day!

Why not have a visit and help raise funds for a very popular village charity and see all the amazing work they do.

Our summer visiting programme has now finished and our Autumn and Christmas dates will be on-line in the next week or so to book but in the meantime... we are open next Saturday 7th September 12noon-3pm in conjunction with the Newton Longville Village Fete. Please adhere to the fete guidelines for parking at Hammond Field and not on the side roads in the village. No parking on-site either for this event.

Their help has ensured another year of free entry and has paid for free circus skills, a silver band, trophies, rosettes, star raffle prizes and equipment/resources vital to the running of the event.

Deadline to enter is 7pm TONIGHT!

Newton Longville Village Show has always been a highlight of the village calendar over the years. It's a chance for the community to get together to share and celebrate their talents and abilities and efforts growing produce over the year. Over the years we have seen hundreds of different things on display in the hall and its just a wonderful sight to see.

Here is all you need to know to take part in the show. Anyone with a connection to the village (resident/family member/school child/school parent/business) is welcome to enter.

Get your entry in by 7pm this evening for your chance to be involved.

Once again, our grand raffle on Saturday is one to look forward to!

⭐️NEWTON LONGVILLE VILLAGE SHOW & FETE⭐️
🏆Welly Wanging Competition🏆

This year we have a Grand Welly Wanging Contest on the field.

According to Upperthong Village - home of the Official Welly Wanging World Championships: 'The sport is to be played with the upmost of British sportsmanship and a large smattering of sense of humour. The premise is blindingly simple – all competitors have to do is wang (Yorkshire for throw) a Wellington boot as far as possible within defined boundary lines, from a standing or running start. It’s pretty much the same as the javelin event in the Olympics with the exception that a welly is unlikely to ever skewer an unexpecting judge or spectator'.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records the furthest Welly Wanging throws were set at Hämeenlinna, Finland, on 12 October 1996. The measured throws were :

Men – 63.98m by Teppo Luoma (Finland)
Women – 40.87m by Sari Tirkkon (Finland)

Pretty impressive distances I’m sure you’ll agree!

Competitors can choose their technique from one handed, double handed, between the legs and upper throw for the honour of the Golden Welly.

There will be awards for the furthest welly wanged and there will be four categories: 6 and under, 16 and under, Mens' and Womens'.

Proceeds from all entries to the Grand Welly Wanging Contest will go towards One in 5000 - a charity that supports a village family. We look forward to seeing you all there 😁

OUR AMAZING TEAM!

Behind the scenes are some fantastic people volunteering their time for the day.

Thank you in particular to everyone who has volunteered to help set up on the Saturday morning and/or pack away at the end. We are so grateful for your help and welcome others to get involved too. Please get in touch with Julie Dimock if you would like to do this.

Thank you also to the our wonderful Village Show stewards and judges who will be in Longueville hall paying attention to all the produce and amazing crafts on display.

We are looking forward to Richard Robinson providing all our audio/sound needs and Andrew Stanton will be taking the mic again as MC. Thank you for offering your time for us.

As always we are so grateful for Newton Longville Scout Group for all their help with setting up, car parking, packing down and doing odd jobs throughout the day.

And this year we are so thankful for Tom Doran and his team from TWD (lorry depot on Bletchley Rd) for all their help with traffic management and car park for the event too.

🏰Entertainment🏰

- This year we have the fantastic Chloe's Castles with us on the field providing our energetic young people the chance to have a bounce on a bouncy castle and bounce down one of their inflatable slides.

- Another new addition to the village fete collective is Pete's Activities https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61554084810119 who will be offering Land Train rides and a crazy mini golf course.

- And Sharon from Fabiosi Facepainting will be on hand for lots of face painting fun!

We can't wait to see you all enjoying these activities!
