Alfonso's passion for music can be traced back to recording his favorite tracks off the radio and trading mix CD's with his friends. He's always been intrigued by both the artistic and technical aspects of DJ'ing, and finally dove into this world at the end of 2018. House music is his foundation and main love, and he finds enjoyment in many forms of electronic da

nce music. Striking a solid vibe with his listeners is what makes him happiest. He grew up on '90's era underground hip hop, R&B, electronica, indie rock, video games, sportscars, snowboarding, and Pacific Northwest culture; the positive influence on his sound is apparent. With Alfonso, the sound has to bounce, groove, connect with the crowd, and have the right attitude. He's covered a lot of ground in his relatively short journey as a DJ: playing for many of Seattle's more prominent outfits (LOST, Nark Magazine, Field Trip, Uniting Souls, Studio 4/4, etc.) at the city's hottest venues (Monkey Loft, Q Nightclub, Kremwerk, Re-Bar, etc.), as well as venturing out to rock parties in Vancouver, Boston, San Diego, and Palm Springs. Whether it be an intimate basement, underground rave, sprawling club, or sunny, rooftop deck, Alfonso can hit the proper groove. Alfonso Tan currently holds a residency with the infamous LOST Family, rocking monthly 2nd-Saturday shows with them at Monkey Loft, and a residency with The Cuff, frequently tearing up their dance floor during the rest of the month. He also recently played Beyond Wonderland 2021 at the Gorge for Insomniac, Desertopia for Palm Springs Pride, and will close out the year with an NYE Celebration on his home turf at the Cuff. Alfonso has also begun producing music - playing with techy, bangin', make-you-dance, club sounds. He has been thoroughly enjoying the evolution in this realm thus far, and plans to keep releasing music while taking opportunities to rock dance floors in a post-lockdown era. Music has always been an important force in Alfonso's life, and he aims to channel its power through his DJ'ing and productions.

10 years 😮 As of today, that’s now how long it’s been since a ‘casual meeting’ with this hot daddy-type on turned into A LOT more. I don’t know if we’ve ever shared this bit online, but the first time I messaged , we kinda hit it off and he randomly ghosted before we could physically meet (I found out why later). Half a year later, he showed up ‘on the grid’ again, and instead of being salty about what happened, I decided to give it another shot and messaged him. A couple of casual hookups turned into some fun dates, which turned into… well, I am sooo glad we gave it another go 🥰

A lot happens in 10 years. I’d say we are far more domesticated and ‘boring’ than when we first started out, but the excitement to be together continues to stay waaay up 📈 I’m so grateful over how well we know each other and how best to show up for each other. This last year has been a gnarly one; in addition to a wicked ride with my day job hunt, for the last couple of months, I’ve been dealing with a chronic, off/on painful medical situation (TMI for socials). Meanwhile, for the last month, Todd has been battling [what we think is] a trapped femoral nerve that has made it incredibly hard for him to move and walk without extreme pain. We’re a mess, lol 🤪 We are both fairly independent people, but I’m really glad that we’ve got each other through all of this madness. Despite the challenges, we continue to laugh and smile together as much as ever. I’m excited for the good times to continue through life’s craziness, and us to find ways to keep those laughs and smiles going. Case in point: in lieu of us not to being able to step out for a fancy dinner, we’re both excited to just order-in the ‘Brooklyn Bridge’ from , a favorite of ours for as long as we’ve been together 🍕

Y’all, is anyone else as affected by weather and daylight as I am? LOL. We recently had a string of nice days in Seattle, and coincidentally, they came with a wave of excitement that hit me over the happenings in the next couple of months 🤩 I’ll be jumping on the road for the first time this year with a cheeky event in SF this Saturday, and sets in Vancouver and NYC at two beloved (and absolutely rad) venues. Locally, I’m hyped to be on direct support for one of my faves, Gene Farris, at one of the coolest places for a party (The Museum of Flight ✈️!), as well as throwing it down on my home turf at the Cuff for some extended sets and alongside my dude Glovibes for Megawoof. On the production front, I am beyond hyped that my first release of the year, “In Your Arms” on HUSLY, is dropping on 3/14 - sound on with the video for a preview 😎 Also, a couple more tunes are getting their release dates ironed out. I spent this last week taking it a little easier after realizing that I was feeling a bit burned out from all of life’s grinds lately (countless music/nightlife things, a demoralizing day job search, etc.). I also tried not to beat myself up for doing so ❤️‍🩹 That said, I’m feeling rested and more ready to jump back in on things 🤞 Something I did budget energy for during the week, however, was preparing for tomorrow night’s set at . I haven’t played an extended set in a while, so I’m stoked to tell a start-to-finish story with a bunch of dope tunes that I’ve recently picked up. After a little more organizing and practice, I’ll be ready to lock in ✅ Expect a lovely variety of disco, funky house, deep house, tech house, personal ID’s, friend’s ID’s, and maybe some techno. Is somebody gonna match my freak?! 😈

I’ve been a huge fan of Tinashe’s music for a very long time and her new track “Nasty” is a total JAM. It’s pretty dope that she posted the stems and invited everyone to remix the track 🤩 I’ve had this sorta menacing tech house tune that I’ve been sitting on, but was having trouble pairing a vocal to it. On a recent Sunday night whilst just relaxing on the couch, I dropped the “Nasty” vocal stem on it and it just felt like a pretty good fit. It’s not an official remix so it’s only on SoundCloud, but it’s available as a free download and can be listened to on SC (linked below). I hope you enjoy!! It’s been about a month since “You Can’t Stop Me” fully dropped on and I’m pretty stoked on all the love it’s been receiving 🥰 As part of it, I experienced a new first: press coverage! I’m sure it’s something that big artists are fairly accustomed to, but it’s pretty dang fresh and exciting to me, especially considering the coverage has come from different parts of the world 🌎 Big thanks to these publications for the feature! 🙏 It’s truly an honor, and it was really cool to shed some light on my creative process with the track as well as some information about myself, my inspiration, and my background (Seattle came up several times, and I’m proud representative! 💙). Summer is comin’ in [literally] hot!! After Pride, and especially after July 4th, is always when it seems like Seattle’s beautiful summer weather finally stops faking us out and I am sooo here for it! Over the next two months, I’ll be playing some really fun events locally as well as in SF and Vancouver: sweaty residency sets on my home turf, a sexy one-off thing in White Center, a wild event at a massive venue during Dore, a dope block party in Vancouver, a wavey boat cruise also in Vancouver, and more to be announced 😎 I’m also super stoked to be droppin’ another house track on a rad label next Friday. 📣 It’s release day!! A couple of weeks ago, I announced that I would be dropping a new single on @adessomusic (@realjuniorjack and @patrice_bds‘s killer label), and phase two of the release happens today: the radio edit of “You Can’t Stop Me” is now available on all streaming platforms. I hope this tune gets you in the mood for the weekend!! Backstory: “You Can’t Stop Me” was something I started back in July 2023. After making a few random things (like an emo Bass House tune), I wanted to create something with more of a rolling groove. Interestingly, the constant movement of rail transit also served as inspiration. If you listen closely, you can actually hear the BART running in the background. I got the track’s basics down quickly, but then struggled for a while to get them to sound ‘just right.’ Some bass notes weren’t hitting properly, the vocal needed more variation, etc. It was frustrating. Still, I learned A LOT through experimenting until I got the sound I wanted. The last parts of the track came together as I was traveling through Croatia and Spain at the end of last summer. I was feeling really inspired from the music events I had attended and used the downtime during the trip to nail down the track’s final bits. “You Can’t Stop Me” certainly has some sentimental value because of this ❤️ 🙏 Big thanks to Adesso Music for picking up the tune! I’m a big fan of the music that they put out and this is a song that I’m super thrilled about, so I’m grateful that it found a great home.
