High Park in 1912!

High Park on January 12, 1912. The trees, the bridge, and wetland plants, were all covered in a gentle blanket of white snow. With the park looking like a textbook winter wonderland (like those you see in the movies or the inside of a snow globe), its no surprise that the person in the background went out for a winter stroll.
This incredibly beautiful snow scene was captured by John Boyd Sr.

We want to wish all of you a Happy New Year and hope for nothing but blessings in 2020. #2020

to sometime in the 1890s! This is a snapshot of the railway crossing which was located by High Park, south of John and Jemima Howard’s estate (also known as Colborne Lodge). The sand bar which separated Grenadier Pond from Lake Ontario was filled in to support the rails and an outlet weir was installed to try to control water levels by the tracks.

Our little furry friends preparing for the cold months ahead. Read the full story below =)

The High Park Chipmunks are still out and hard at work prepping for the coming season. During the winter months, they will spend most of their time sleeping in the elaborate underground burrows, which they made by digging and carrying away the dirt in their pouched mouths. These burrows can be as much as 30 feet long and 3 feet deep, with multiple rooms and entrances. 🐿
