7 Handy Tips for Preserving Chillis in British Style
Are you a chilli lover keen to keep that fiery flavour all year round? Here are seven effective tips to preserve your chillis fresh and flavourful, the British way:
❄️Freezing: Wash and dry your chillis, then freeze them on a tray before transferring to airtight containers. Frozen chillis retain their flavour and can be used straight from the freezer.
🌞Drying: Hang chillis in a warm, dry spot or use a dehydrator to dry them. Store dried chillis in airtight containers away from moisture and light.
🌶️Pickling: Pack sliced chillis into sterilised jars and cover with a pickling solution made from vinegar, water, salt, and spices. Store the jars in the fridge for several months.
🥫Canning: Follow proper canning procedures to preserve large quantities of chillis for an extended period. Sterilise jars, prepare chillis, and process them in a water bath or pressure canner.
