Hey everybody! Equity Films in partnership, with the Bertie County Black History Month Committee invites you- audiences of any age, to submit a 1 minute and no longer then 5 minute Film or Tik Tok HONORING MLK, JR OR BLACK HISTORY MONTH! This is for EVERYONE! We invite you to submit -categories are: poetry, music/ music videos including choirs and/or individual artists, spoken word, animation, documentary, drama, and more! The top Films/TikTok’s will be screened at the Black History Month Program in February. Awards will also be given. THEME: “THE JOURNEY” 2024: TRUBUTE TO DR MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR and BLACK HISTORY MONTH! we are so excited… Looking forward to your submissions! Submissions are free!

Awesome! So many thanks to members of the Black History Month Program committee for allowing me to pitch the idea of a film component as a part of the 2024 Black History Month Program! I am so thrilled —-so very very grateful for the committee saying yes! The title is EQUITY FILMS PRESENTS : JOURNEY FILMS! All FILM/TikTok submissions no less than one minute and no more than five minutes paying tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and/or Black History Month! More details to come! 🎬🎬🎬

I’m not sure how to start this THANK YOU note! There were so many hands that lifted the vision into view as a visual testament to the world that God is no respecter of persons, and neither is he a respecter of geography… the creative spirit is boundless, and where people are, you will find the genius of storytelling!  Thank you for your sacrifice of time and gifting over several months, weeks or days! There were no paid staff everything we did was done by unwavering volunteers by hours, days, weeks, or months… you believe in the power of storytelling and you believe that he can take place in underrepresented, underserved communities like ours and so, you believed and so it was done! Thank you again to our many supporters and friends!  Please inbox me of your interest in being a part of the film festival next year! Next year the festival takes place on September 13-15, 2023. I am hopeful you will submit a film. Films will be submitted to Filmfreeway. Submissions open January 18, 2024 and close July 14, 2024. Thank you again, and again and again!❤️🙏🏾😃🙏🏾‼️

FREE-YOU’RE INVITED: FILM FESTIVAL MASTER WORKSHOP SATURDAY SEPT 9- 2:20PM-3:20PM FEATURING AWARD WINNING FILMMAKER Writer, Director Carolyn Stephenson Bertie County High School auditorium. Carolyn is a writer, director, and assistant director. She started her career in Hollywood at Roger Corman's studio in Venice, CA. Caroline has been a member of the Director's Guild of America since 2001. She is a native and resident of Northeastern North Carolina. In 2016, she founded Cultivator, Inc. a literacy and food non-profit, in her hometown of Murfreesboro. Caroline attended film school at Boston University and graduated from Columbia College Chicago.
