Did you know that I recently resigned from my full-time teaching career? I could make this a ten-part-series of posts, but I know I won't.
A lot of people have asked me if I quit to pursue my business dreams. The simple answer is no, but it's also kind of yes. The whole reason this business started was to try to make enough income to justify staying home with my babies.
The business had grown enough that I was working full-time, then coming home and working on flowers through the evenings and early mornings - actually spending less time with my babies... wedding weeks were especially hard with schedules.
I had this realization this spring that running on empty trying to work two jobs and take care of two kids was not the plan; in fact, it was quite the opposite, and I had felt God tugging at my heart for a long time to let it go and invest in my family.
so, I made the [very scary] leap to stay home to be a SAHM, but truly, the flowers are what is allowing me to even try this. I'm so very excited and relieved to be home making memories with my kids, and I'm excited that this new flexibility will allow our business to hopefully expand and offer new things (like free flower delivery to our county schools next week)!

Our first succession of sunflowers are starting to 🌻burst!🌻
The flower shop and flower cart will be open Friday and Saturday this week, 9 am - 5 pm.
These bouquets are absolutely packed with sunflowers, snapdragons, and zinnias. I put way more in than I usually would because they're all coming on so quickly. I was literally having trouble getting wraps around them!

I am always amazed by what our land (and Creator) gives us - I harvested just one of my lavender plants to make hydrosol this morning, but have so much that I'll also have large bunches on the cart and in the flower shop tomorrow, July 5th and Saturday, July 6th! They'll be fresh if you'd like to use them in baking or cooking, or hang them to dry and keep forever! I can not get enough of the smell in my home 😌

I'll be flowering my final wedding for the "spring" season tomorrow! After that, focus will shift back to the flower cart and shop. Thank you to everyone who participated in my polls, and here are the results...
🌸 we want the convenience of the flower cart + the shopping experience of the flower shop in the barn; after this week, I will be stocking both spaces (if I have enough blooms to stock both).
🌸 Saturday mornings are top priority. We will have the shop open each Friday and Saturday (but as usual if you're planning to stop, check social media just in case there are changes!).
🌸 we will be keeping things self-service (at least the majority of the time)
🌸 delivery is preferred, but I just don't think I'm prepared for that at this point in time, maybe in the future! It's valuable to know!

Quick shop/life update... the flower shop will be open tomorrow (Saturday, 5/25) for prom pick-ups. It will also be open if you'd like to shop houseplants and gifts! 🪴
I will NOT be stocking with fresh flowers tomorrow or next weekend - with school/work, babies, and two weddings back-to-back, I'm barely scraping by honestly 🫠🤪 I just don't have the time and energy to keep the shop stocked these next couple weeks. Please hang with me, though... once summer vacation comes, I hope to start more regular hours and availability of grab-and-go bouquets!

Spring has arrived! We have our first handfuls of anemones! A few crates full of tulips in the fridge 🌷 it felt like it was never going to come, but feel confident (and happy!) because the flowers are back on the farm! We will have farm-grown flower jars in the shop this Saturday with other goodies to make your spring weekend happy and bright!
Ensure yourself or a loved one a beautiful spring of colorful, specialty blooms: fragrant heirloom daffodils, fluffy ranunuclus, colorful anemones and tulips, and full peonies. If I was going to pick a subscription for myself, this would be the one! Because these spring crops are so finicky, and because it's our first year doing spring subscriptions, spots will be very limited. You don't want to miss out! Soaking in these fall days with my babies before going back to my full-time job 😭 Time off from both school and larger-scale flower-growing has allowed me to see things more clearly, both what I want for my small business and for my family.
