Captured here is multimedia artist Lily Rogers’ @lilcifer kinetic light installation which includes a video by @leather_locklear, and music by @2cb_band, a newly formed group consisting of @lilcifer, @leather_locklear, and @bratttaylor.
@2cb_band came together around 6 months ago through a chance improvisational jam session. The iPhone recordings from that first session eventually became the foundation for the songs they recorded during the residency. True to the ethos that founded the band, they also used the residency to explore their sound by recording all of their improvised sessions and practices with Locker Room sound engineers @jesusnapkins, @seekmiles, and @serrjesse. The recordings will be used as the soundtrack in the @w1nn1th directed film “Residency”.
2C-B seeks to create an immersive experience that points to the obscure and ineffable inner worlds within every person. They chose to employ light, sound, and video, as they all move through time, and must experienced to be known.

“RESIDENCY” the film. It’s either a doc about shooting a horror film or a horror film about shooting a doc.
During the February residency, director @w1nn1th conceptualized and shot a genre-bending docu-horror that takes place at a possessed art gallery where ten obsessive female artists succumb to the darkness of their creative fascinations. Sound familiar?
Instead of seeking out traditional methods of funding to finish the full-length feature film (set to debut in spring 2023), we are trying something new and inviting others to join in the collaborative process. On March 22nd, we announced the monthlong auction of 8 NFTs on @opensea which grant the initial buyer Associate Producer credit, access to the premier and a unique offering by one of the artists such as a portrait by painter @kalinawinters, the chance to shoot their own death scene with director @w1nn1th , backstage access to future @2cb_band shows, and more.

Halfway, all the way. Week 2 of the residency was a whole whirlwind with the residents diving further into their processes, the band playing a show, and an entire fashion show takeover for NYFW with @amehlnyc. One of the themes of the week was support. It was wild to see how many people came out to dedicate their energy to supporting these women and their visions.

It has been a riveting two days of competition thus far down here in sunny Miami. Having had the previous year off due to the global pandemic, the players are bringing a rigor and vitality to this arena that we have never seen before. We similarly wanted to up our game this year, trading in our trophies made of precious metals and gem stones for a simple cup paired with a precious digital file. We are pleased to announce that the top three awardees will each be given a unique NFT for 1nd, 2rd, and 3st place. Let the games continue! 🏅

Tomorrow we open the doors to the “New York Is Dead” gallery show. A lot of people poured their blood, sweat, tears, and bops into making this all come together.
