Been posting about this elsewhere, but just to get it on here:
There’s an old CCG called On The Edge, released in 1994, which was critically well received but only stuck around a couple of years. I’ve had a passing interest in it for a long time due to it’s wild theme and general “edgy 90’s woo woo” aesthetic, but it’s hard to build up enough stock to play a CCG without shelling out hundreds of dollars…and that’s a rat race I’m largely done with.
Well, it turns out, the company that makes this game is not only still selling the cards, but still selling the cards as originally printed in the 90’s (possibly even from the same print run?)…and they are currently doing a 30th anniversary bundle where you can buy THREE HUNDRED boosters…for $50.
That’s so many cards.
So, I picked it up, and have spent the last couple weeks sorting them all out. Last night I finished building some decks using existing Decklists I found on BGG…final result, I was able to squeeze 9 decks out of the bundle with only minor substitutions here and there. And there is plenty of stock left if I want to try to cook some up from my own brain.
All that to say…anybody want to play a janky 90’s CCG with me?
