Here 10 photos from a memorable day of a very special couple for me at Weddings at The Ferry House. First time for me and I was so impressed by this charming venue located on the Isle of Sheppey. It offers a beautiful countryside setting with unique views across the Swale Estuary, making it an ideal spot for a serene and intimate wedding.

Key Features of The Ferry House:
Rustic Charm: The venue features exposed beams, warm brickwork, and cozy interiors that create a romantic, rustic atmosphere.
Outdoor Spaces: There are spacious gardens for outdoor ceremonies, receptions, and photography, providing stunning natural backdrops.
Exclusive Use: The venue offers exclusive use for weddings, ensuring privacy for your celebration.
Accommodation: On-site rooms and cottages provide convenient accommodation for the couple and guests.
Farm-to-Table Cuisine: The Ferry House prides itself on locally sourced ingredients, including produce from its own farm and gardens, ensuring a fresh and seasonal menu.
It's an ideal choice if you value a simple, authentic, and intimate setting for your wedding while being immersed in nature.
I hope you enjoy the pictures!
I'd like to mention all the vendors that contributed to such a special day

What a magical wedding experience! I've photographed the beautiful Frank and Fiona at the Rookery hosted by Streatham Common Cooperative which offers a beautiful, natural backdrop for a ceremony, with its charming gardens and tranquil vibe. Pairing that with a reception at a place like The Inkspot Brewery is the perfect balance of elegance and fun—especially for beer lovers! The Artisan brewery adds such a personal touch to a wedding, offering unique brews that really make the occasion feel special. The combination of a scenic ceremony followed by a laid-back but stylish brewery reception made the experience unique!

If you are a beer lover I strongly recommend to go and visit Tom at The Inkspot Brewery or get in touch with the Streatham Common Cooperative

Just a few images from an intimate and memorable wedding in Fordwich, the smaller town in Britain! I've had the pleasure to photograph a special couple who didn't hide their emotions during their special day. I'm lucky to experience and witness these moments of love. This is a job makes my heart sing.

What is your favourite wedding tradition? Mine is Speeches!

Wedding speeches are indeed a cherished tradition in the UK, (It's not that common in Italy!) and they add a special touch to the celebration. Typically, these speeches are made by the father of the bride, the groom, and the best man, although it's becoming more common for the bride, maid of honor, and others to give speeches as well.

The speeches are often heartfelt, filled with personal stories, humor, and sincere wishes for the couple’s future. They serve as a moment to reflect on the journey of the bride and groom, share memories, and express gratitude to friends and family. The best man's speech, in particular, is known for being witty and playful, often teasing the groom in a light-hearted way.

This tradition is a great way to bring everyone together, creating an emotional and memorable experience for all involved. It adds a layer of personal connection to the day, as those closest to the couple get to publicly express their love, support, and joy for the bride and the groom!

Aside from Wedding photography I also deal with corporate, commercial and family photography but weddings are definitely my favorites. A Wedding is a deeply fulfilling experience for me, blending my love for storytelling, human connection, and the vibrant energy of celebrations. These are the 3 things I love the most:

Capturing the Full Story: The extended time frame of weddings allows me to immerse myself in the event, gradually warming up and capturing a multitude of moments. With so many activities unfolding, I'm able to document the day’s narrative in all its complexity, from the quiet, intimate moments to the grand celebrations.

Emotional Connection: I observe and enjoy the raw, genuine emotions that weddings bring out in people. Through my lens, I capture the joy, tears, laughter, and heartfelt speeches, giving me a glimpse into the deep relationships between friends and family. This emotional depth allows me to craft stories from the interactions and expressions of the people involved.

Being Part of the Energy: I thrive on the energy of weddings, especially during the reception when the dance floor comes alive. As inhibitions fade, people express themselves more freely, and I get to capture their true essence.

What is my favourite moment during a wedding?

Well, I generally love it all, from the getting ready, the confetti, the speeches...but the one I'm really getting crazy with is the dance floor.

The dance floor is often the most energetic part of a wedding. It’s where people let loose and celebrate with abandon. It's where dancing evokes a wide range of raw and genuine expressions – from sheer joy and laughter to concentration and even surprise!

I think I have a natural affinity for dynamic, action-packed scenes. The dance floor provides a continuous stream of such moments,. It keeps my creative energy high and capturing motions becomes even more exciting!

3 THINGS I WISH MY COUPLES KNEW ABOUT THEIR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER:

1. The Photographer is Your Memory Keeper. Their photos will be the lasting record of your special day, allowing you to relive the emotions and memories for years to come. This makes it crucial to invest in a photographer whose work you love and who you trust to document your wedding beautifully.

2. Quality and Style of Photography Matter
Not all photographers are the same. It’s essential to look beyond just the cost and consider the quality and style of their work. Pay attention to their ability to capture emotions, the creativity of their compositions, and their attention to detail. High-quality photographs will be worth the investment.

3. Personality and Comfort are Key
The photographer will be with you throughout your wedding day, often in intimate and emotional moments. Therefore, it’s vital that you feel comfortable with them.

Drop a heart if this resonates

Do you want to know why I don't share raw files with my clients?

Sometimes I get requests like "I'd love to have your as our photographer but could we have the raw files and edit the photos ourselves?"

I typically do not provide raw files for several reasons:

1. I take an average of 4-5K shots on a wedding day and "culling the photos" deciding which ones makes the cut is a job itself and choosing the right one requires an expert eye

2. Ensuring Quality: Raw files are unprocessed and can appear flat and unrefined. My goal is to deliver images that meet the highest quality standards, and that includes professional editing to ensure they look their best.

3. Consistency and Professionalism: Each image I deliver is carefully edited to reflect my professional standards and style. Providing raw files could lead to inconsistent results that don’t represent the quality of work you expect from me.

4. Intellectual Property: Raw files are the digital negatives of my creative work. They are a crucial part of my intellectual property, and keeping them ensures that my work is not misused or altered in ways that could misrepresent my brand.

Basically it's like providing an unfinished job and and without my signature!

I hope this helps understanding why generally, professional photographer don't share their raw files!

3 Things I love about summer weddings:

1. Beautiful Outdoor Settings
Summer weddings often take advantage of the warm weather and abundant sunshine by being held outdoors. Gardens, woods or countryside venues offer stunning backdrops for both the ceremony and the reception.

2. Vibrant and Seasonal Décor
The bright and lively atmosphere of summer allows for vibrant and colorful décor. Flowers are in full bloom, offering a wide variety of choices for bouquets, centerpieces, and other floral arrangements.

3. Longer Days and Warm Evenings
The extended daylight hours of summer mean that the festivities can last longer, with more time for activities, dancing, and socializing. Warm evenings allow guests to comfortably enjoy outdoor receptions!

Secret wedding hacks for brides?

Light! Here some tips for you!

Lighting is one of the most crucial aspects of photography, especially during the moments of getting ready on a wedding day. Here’s a detailed guide for brides and grooms to ensure they have the best lighting for those beautiful getting-ready shots:
1. Choose the Right Room - Pick a room with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. Natural light is flattering and creates a soft, beautiful effect on the skin.
2. Face the Light: When you’re getting ready, try to face the windows. This ensures that the light illuminates your face evenly, reducing shadows and highlighting your features.
3. If in doubt, speak to your photographer!!

Many couples ask if I stay after the first dance. Absolutely, I do! The party shots after the first dance are some of the craziest and most fun moments of the entire day. I love capturing the joy, energy, and spontaneous moments that happen on the dance floor. By then, people might have had a few drinks and are not camera shy at all! Your wedding celebration deserves to be documented in its entirety, from the heartfelt vows to the lively party, ensuring every unforgettable moment is preserved!

Want to know one thing I hate about weddings???

Group photos and posing couples!!!

I'm passionate about capturing moments and posing in groups and couples is not really one of my strengths. Of course, there are always sides of your job that are not as fun. There are 3 main reasons why I don't like group photos or posing couples:

1 Interrupts the Fun: Guests are often engrossed in enjoying the party, mingling, and celebrating. Being called away for a photo can interrupt the flow of the event. I try to take my group shots super quickly, often with the help of a designated family member who will help round up people!

2 Coordination Challenges: Gathering everyone for a group photo can be stressful. There’s always someone missing, whether they're in the bathroom or at the bar! To avoid too much disruption, I schedule group photos during natural breaks in the event, such as after the ceremony or before the reception.

3 Posing Feels Unnatural: With groups I come up with ideas like !"one two three and all together ha ha ha" As for the couples, I try to make it fun with some silly games since both of us don't like posing or being posed!

However, group photos and posing couples during their portrait session is part of the wedding schedule and have to be done to complete your job. The trick really, is trying to make it fun!

Do you know a common mistake that brides can make while walking down the aisle?
Here some tips for you!
1.Rushing the Walk (nerves and tension can do that!). It's important to take slow, savor the moment and give the photographer and guests a chance to fully appreciate the walk.
2. Very important! Let the Bridesmaids and Flower Girls Finish Their Walk: The Bride may start her walk before the bridesmaids and the flower girls have fully cleared the aisle, which can block the photographer's view. It's crucial to wait until they are in place before beginning the walk so to allow the photographer to capture fully this special moment.
3. Try not to look down!: Brides might look at the ground while walking to avoid tripping. However, this can result in poor photos and missing the emotional connections with guests. Keeping the head up and making eye contact with guests and the groom is recommended (if you can!)
I hope these tips can be useful for you!
