On our wedding day I vowed to support Mallory when she was doing well, and to carry her when she couldn’t carry herself. I stand by those words, but be fooled. She’s been the one carrying me ever since. ⁠

There really isn't anything like Autumn in the North East. I get it, I've grown up here and moved away briefly only to run right back. Still, go ahead prove me wrong, what's better? I'm sure you'll say spring in the pacific northwest or something along those lines, but for me it will always be Autumn in New York. ⁠

The connection between food and flowers resonates deeply with us and offers an opportunity to add something unexpected to our work. ⁠

These wild cukes, plus the 'little flower girl' zinnias and the mix of local dahlias were grown by Anne Hall , who was kind enough to arrange delivery to the wedding site the day of, so our clients and their guests could enjoy the absolute freshest locally grown blooms. ⁠

The can-do attitude and willingness to help in any way needed that exists in the flower world always warms my heart, even in the heat of early September.⁠

October through the years 2019, 2020, 2021 left to right, as the month of October has become increasingly significant for us.

In 2019 we traveled for our honeymoon, in 2020 we anxiously awaited the arrival of our first child and this October has been a whirlwind as we continue to learn this parenting thing on the fly, ahead of our son’s first birthday.

This community has always impressed me, but it’s been next level lately, as we all navigate unprecedented obstacles. From working on each other’s events to sharing studio space and inventory to deal with supply chain issues, to offering words of encouragement to keep going.

The above picture was taking on the day the first US death was reported from covid, just a few miles from where it occurred. I flew back from Seattle to NY in fear, thinking if I can just make it back to Brooklyn everything would be ok. 10 seconds later NYC became the covid epicenter and the world changed in ways we’re still dealing with.

Next to me in this photo is Tanya Y. Seattle Florist] who is an absolute beast in this industry and such a talented designer. If you’re not already following her, do yourself a favor and do so.

Since this day, the floral community has been nothing short of a lifeline. The embodiment of There’s something about the people attracted to this line of work or creative outlet. You collective of creative souls make me proud to run in the same circles. anyone have a better name?

It’s been a wild season so far and when not sourcing flowers, processing flowers, arranging flowers, and dealing with flower shortages, my days are spent hanging with this little bud (2nd photo).⁠⁠

Currently, we’re on 2 naps and 3 real meals a day (shoot out to for making that task more manageable) and working on a second set of teeth. Trying to soak it all in. It really does just go so fast. ⁠⁠

This little bud is growing so fast. In just a few days he'll already be 6 months and I can't believe how fast the time has passed. Here he is a few weeks back in what has become one of my favorite photos of him. I feel like I'm staring directly into the eyes of my former self. Though Mallory thinks he looks more like here.
