📢Last week, a series of presentations and a panel discussion named Sport as a Bridge🔗 took place in , 15th May.

Co-organised by Palacký University in Olomouc🎓 and Fair Play Point🫶, it brought together partners and stakeholders from various sectors of , social work, public administration and business sector. Jointly, we discussed potentials of sharing know-how, methods and experience with using sports and movement for non-sporting goals:

•Sport as a tool in work with children and youth from disadvantaged background
•Potential of sport in supporting
•What can companies and professional clubs do within their and activities
•What support can and wants to offer the public administration.

The event was too short and too broad in topics to bring specific joint outcomes and agreements. Still, we feel that we have the right direction with mainstreaming, networking and advocacy of the topics. Step by step, we move forward💪😀.

Our field trip to Prague🏙️, supported by 🇪🇺.

Over two days, we visited a Czech office🇺🇳, a Czech chapter of 🕊️ and a panel discussion called "Sport as a bridge", co-organised with our colleagues from .🏅

On Friday, we were hosted by the and boxing club and its founder, Mr. Jan Balog.

The students have deepened their insight into the field and heard about various instances and stakeholders building the context of using sport for 🚵🤸🤾

A practical workshop for students in the module teaching in 🇪🇺, introducing them to 🏃⚽ method. The students got an insight into the potential of sport and movement for supporting informal learning and personal skills development.

The 4th week of our two new modules funded by grant "European Dimension in Sport for Development and Peace"🇪🇺

📝 allowed us to bring together 35 students from various countries and study programmes interested in the potential of sports as a tool for 🚵🤸🤾

The modules are taught simultaneously at the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Physical Culture at the Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic🇨🇿. Students get theoretical and practical information on the history of , key milestones, strategies and documents, EU institutions dealing with sports, role of NGOs and other organisations. We prepare a practical workshop using method and a final field trip to .

The annual meeting and the general assembly of 🇪🇺 (European Observatoire of Sport and Employment). This time in Madrid, Spain🇪🇦. Latest statistics and trends in the sports sector . Great appreciation to those guys for production of detailed sports work-related data from all the EU countries👍.

On behalf of the project "Policy Advocacy in Sport and Society", we spread the call for brief case studies. If you are willing to share a few details on your experience please visit the 🔗https://www.sportanddev.org/latest/news/call-submissions-policy-advocacy-sport🔗.

The case may include a variety of activities, such as approaching policy makers and stakeholders, promoting information campaigns, holding round tables or instigating legal actions. It may or may not concern sport for development, sport for good or any other social change-related operations.

📣We have a new 🇪🇺 Jean Monnet project called "European Dimension in Sport for Development and Peace".

In the next 3 years, we will open a new module for graduate students, conduct a study mapping conceptions across EU countries and hold round tables disseminating the topic and for facilitating discussions between academics, NGO professionals, policy makers, sports officials and other stakeholders.

The project is implemented by the Faculty of Physical Culture and Faculty of Science at the Palacky University Olomouc, Czech Republic .🏢

"Potential of Sports as a Tool for Social Cohesion: Football for Development in Olomouc Region"

Today, we presented our study of the Football for Development project and its influence on the of a community at the Olomouc Sociology Conference.

As the building blocks of the social cohesion viewed by the project's participants, the study revealed: shared values, integration, openness of activities, safe places, family and friends. It was a nice cross-sectional experience aimed at the practical (evaluation of the programme) and theoretical (concept of social cohesion) goals.
