We’re excited to share that our CEO Adam Waldron, the owner of Ska Boy Promotions, is stepping up to run for councillor in Kingswinford South, putting community over politics.

Adam's commitment to our neighborhood shines through in his work with Ska Boy Promotions, and we have no doubt that he will bring that same dedication and passion to serving our community in this new capacity.

Let's support Adam as he seeks to make positive changes and prioritize the needs of our community!

Official Statement

I’m a charity campaigner with a great passion for my local community and served as a councillor from 2021 to 2023. During my service, I was able to support several local ventures and set up many groups that have brought people together, such as the Wall Heath TSF Kuppa Club, Kingswinford & Wall Heath Litter Pick Group, and the TSF Youth Club.

As someone who has been involved with both Labour and Conservatives, when it comes to local council, there isn’t much difference between the two. The major political parties are obliged to put a candidate in every seat, regardless of a person's credibility, and with little regard as to whether they are from the area. As a result, they have remained detached from the heart of our community, and I often hear many people saying “We don’t know who our councillor is?” Or “We never see our councillor! We only see them during election time!”

We want to change that and bring in community ambassadors who are visible in our local area and approachable to all our residents. It’s only when we are immersed in the community and interact with our local businesses and groups that we can truly listen and understand the real concerns in our community. It should be the community giving their views to their councillor to make policy and not the other way round, where the party enforces their view on residents.

Community over politics, that is what we believe in. That is where we will see real change. We also believe that it is vital to include the views of our youngsters. After all, it is their future we are shaping, and it’s important to have their involvement. During my time as a councillor I’ve had many youngsters apply for work experience with me, and working alongside them was a very positive change and a great insight to their own views on improving our community.

Now, it's time that we vote for the person who will serve our community instead of the big political groups who have failed or simply forgotten about us. This is why I am honoured to welcome and introduce our one community, Independent candidates:

Joining me representing Kingswinford North and Wall Heath is Cassie Gray from TSF Youth Group and representing Kingswinford South are Brian Bassingthwaighte from the Kingswinford Christian Centre and Adam Waldron from Ska boys boxing academy.

Over the next few weeks, we will announce our pledges on why you should vote for us, but perhaps more importantly, it's about listening and delivering on your priorities.

We pledge to be accountable, available, and visible to our community 365 days a year!

A dominant performance from Simpson. Simpson started the first round on the front foot and remained on it right the way through to the 2nd where his opponent couldn’t beat the 10 count🥊

Scarlett Stops it in 1🥊

After a last minute pull out from his original opponent, Remi Scarlett stepped into the ring to face off against Josh Latimar👀

Within the opening seconds of Round 1, Scarlett dropped Latimar after a flurry of body shots, after beating the 10-count, Scarlett could feel the victory and went straight back on the attack. Latimar didn’t stand a chance and it was clear to see that Scarlett was levels above his competition🏆

Scarlett dropped Latimar again and the referee called a stop to the contest🔥

A Step Up For Spair!🔥

Spair stepped into the ring for the 12th time on Saturday against the formidable Alex Barber-Owen🥊

Round 1 saw Spair assert his dominance, applying pressure to Barber-Owen with viscous body shots!👀

Round 2 saw a repeat of round 1 with even more success for Spair, dropping Barber-Owen in the closing seconds of the round, luckily Barber-Owen beat the count and the fight remained active heading into the third round⏱️

Round 3 was a repeat of round 1 and 2 with Spair landing even more body shots that were visually taking a toll on Barber-Owen. This was brought to a conclusion when Spair landed another beautifully crafted body shot and referee Shaun White called off the contest🏆

Tom Curtis made his way to the ring for his first win/loss bout against Tony Deakin👀

In the first round Curtis stayed on the front foot using the perfect balance of single shots and combinations to give him the edge over Deakin🥊

Now Curtis had gained confidence, his aura changed and he was focused on the attack. Curtis didn’t give Deakin any second to gain his composure before he hit him with flurries of punches and again finished the round strong💪🏽

The third and final round was as expected after seeing the first two, Curtis maintained his presence in the ring, resulting in him winning every round and picking up his first win🏆

The debut of Kovac wasn’t one to be missed, he showed his knowledge of the ring and backed it up with the power he carries🔥

After a 10-month hiatus, our very own Adam Ska Boy stepped into the ring against the experienced Kev Hall👀

The first round allowed Ska Boy to assert his dominance and he controlled the round completely, using his skill and technique to overcome the small offence Hall managed🥊

Heading in to the second it didn’t look like Hall would make it through, this was then turned into fact when Ska Boy caught Hall with a right-hand that sent him crashing to the canvas🔥

Unable to beat the 10-count Hall admitted defeat and Ska Boy stood tall🥊
