Feb 15 2021 Modern Roots Kitchen started as a YouTube Channel with my first episode being a Big Red Beer Braised Barbacoa featuring Rojo

I did the first video by myself and thankfully and .a.lens helped me edit and film quite a few episodes after that
shot me an intro and we went to work!

Modern Roots Kitchen became Modern Roots Kitchen Catering Co. and I started picking up caterings and pop ups whenever and wherever I could after work with the help of my wife and family pulling 20 hour days sometimes

We’ve catered for The Texas Army National Guard, Weddings, Funerals, Brunch, big and small!

We grew into a few permanent spots like Rock Box/ Vibes Events Center and my homie jumped in to help me do pop ups and caterings and has been with me since throwing down South Texas Cuisine!

I realize now that everything isn’t always sunshine and rainbows owning a business as I quit my job and dove head first into this Feb of 2023 but I keep on pushing through tough moments

I’ve wanted to quit a few times but I just don’t have it in me to leave what I started

I want to thank everyone that has helped MRK grow

My parents, , , , , , Daniel Garcia, Duke Martinez, , , , and all family and friends that pull up to pop ups and book us for caterings

Love you guys man!

Also an even bigger shoutout to my wife for helping with anything and everything she can even if I leave the kitchen a mess ❤️ she keeps me going everyday
