Tips for your Vow Renewal:
A vow renewal can be held anywhere. There are no strict rules that apply, so make it a personal experience. If you are both animal lovers, consider holding your renewal at Cats Cradle where you will have a picturesque setting and be surrounded by loving rescued senior cats.
During a vow renewal ceremony, vows are exchanged and it is an opportunity for the couple to reflect on their relationship and be grateful for everything they’ve accomplished together up to this point. The couple can choose to exchange the same vows, or they can prepare new vows. During the ceremony, rings may also be exchanged between the couple.
The feeling at Cats Cradle is very casual. Feel free to wear casual clothes. However, if the bride will be holding a bouquet the dress should be appropriate. Also, if the groom will be wearing a boutonniere, he should consider wearing a suit or blazer.
Since our facility can accommodate only a small number of guests we require you keep your party to a maximum of 8 (Including the Bride and Groom). The goal is to keep the event low-key and intimate. Others can watch your ceremony live on our page.
If you choose to exchange your old wedding rings, a common practice is to have them engraved either with a special message or a meaningful quote.
Since a vow renewal ceremony does not have any legal implications, anyone can officiate a vow renewal. You can choose your minister, a close friend, a relative or even your oldest child to be your officiant. You may even choose to hire a vow renewal officiant or celebrant to preside over the ceremony.
Instead of having the “bride” be escorted down the aisle, the couple will walk from opposite sides of our covered walkway and meet in the middle at the stage.
We have a sound system and a selection of wedding music for you to choose from.
If you have a photographer, in addition to pictures with the cats, we have locations in the Sanctuary where memorable pictures can be taken such as in the Asian area under our Torii gate, the butterfly memorial garden, or in front of our Gazebo.
