Here’s the deal: I love flowers.
🌸 I love to design with flowers, I love looking at flowers. I love thinking about flowers. I love when the flowers that I’ve been looking at and thinking about that I then designed with make someone else smile. And this fountain makes people SMILE.
🌸 On one hand, that’s because it represents the MASSIVE amount of fundraising that and specifically have done for (look into it— IT’S INCREDIBLE) but on the other hand, it just makes people smile because it’s a fountain filled with (insert your expletive of choice) FLOWERS!
🌸 So, smile. Let yourself enjoy these beautiful images captured by my friend and just take a second to love the beauty of life.

(Late side note— these lasted about 48 hours in 100 degree Louisiana heat, and still looked pretty darn decent right before we pulled them down. I’m proud of that even though I feel I had very little control or input in their survival 🤣.)

The absolute joy that sings from these images is a testament to the heart of the couple.
Dani described the feeling as “blissful” to me, and you can see the jubilance in their expressions and on the faces of every one of their friends.

In a nod to the last of my May-planted cosmos in bloom at the studio, I’m sharing this fluffy, feminine daily arrangement from earlier this summer. The locally grown lisianthus, cosmos, and ranuncs bring it to life, don’t you think?

The month of July was a fantastic time of rest, catchup, and vision planning. I’m so thankful for this break each year, but I’m glad to say that I still feel excited coming back to our subscriptions, everyday flower orders, and events.

Who needs a Monday pick me up?!
American grown summertime happy in a crisp white vase should do the trick, I think.
🌸💗 The colors get richer in the summer months, and anything that can hang on in the heat is a trooper in my book. Those precious zinnias are foraged from my neighbor’s yard, and she specifically planted the Salmon Oklahoma’s for us to snip off of all summer… but let’s be honest..
🌸💗 Dahlias are stealing the show in this arrangement. Can you pick out the four different varieties?

And with that, we have wrapped up our spring/summer wedding season!
🌸 I am so excited to spend the next month planning for the fall, emptying my inbox, sending out 20+ proposals, and working on our daily delivery expansion.

In honor of the cover, I’m sharing a few more from this gorgeousness and a few tips for all of you brides out there on booking a floral designer for your wedding.
🤍 First up- we’re already getting lots of 2023 inquiries. If you’re a 2022 bride, you need to book asap!
🤍 Second- do a little prep work before reaching out to really get a good idea of where your overall floral budget will be. This doesn’t have to be exact, but have an idea of the range you’re shooting OR, if you know you have major flexibility and flowers are super important to you, keep that in mind. (Run on sentence but a much needed one..) Be open and up front with your florist about these numbers and the level of flexibility!
🤍 Last (maybe most important!) - inquire to designers whose style you rrrrreally like — not just every floral shop in town to see who is going to give you the best bottomline price. Your time is valuable. Your designer’s time is valuable! Price shopping 3-4 florists/designers is time consuming for you and can be a let down for all involved.
🤍 If you followed step 2, then step 3 is going to line you up with the exact right floral creative for your wedding. If they’re available, it’s a match made in heaven!

“I’m just so glad I’ve found you.”
I hear this all the time from my happy flower senders, recipients, and brides. This is my chance to say that I’m so happy we’ve found each other!
🌸 I’ve been thinking about this a lot, how I’d like my business to grow and develop, and I keep coming back to the same thought: I don’t want to be a peddler of flowers, an unattached, cold company that fulfills an obligated need.
🌸 I want the community side of flowers to flourish in Forage. I want these flowers to be a part of your and your families’ lives. I dream of lifelong partnerships and collective creating.
🌸 I want to do flowers for your first baby shower, and then her baptism. Plan with you for their weddings and parties. When I’m making the all pink prom corsage, I’ll know exactly whose little wrist it’s going on. Or at least have heard their names.
🌸 So sappy. I know. But I can’t stop thinking of healthy growth and lifelong or at least season-of-life-long partnerships.
🌸 I want to be a legacy floral designer. I want to be your legacy floral designer, creating floral artwork as a part of the events and moments you will remember forever.
🌸 If you feel that way about flowers, we should chat.
🌸 This arrangement was part of a gift from a friend to a friend, and the giver wanted her garden loving friend to see cut flowers she has grown before filling the piece. The antique urn was a thrifted find hand-me-down, and the entire piece was custom designed with the recipient and the sender in mind.

It’s been almost exactly a year since I met Lauren and Rachel of and since then, they’ve become business roomies, warehouse sharers, and most of all very good friends.
💗 My plan a year ago was to function out of the house “studio” (read: guest bedroom) for 2-3 years and then think about expanding.
💗 When we started talking about a space together (maybe on the very first night that we had drinks together?!) I had no idea that I’d be all settled in less than 12 months out, but here we are! And it’s wonderful.
💗 This is obviously a huge *scary* step, but I’m so excited for the way this space will be used, filled, and worked in. I’m so thankful for you girls and cannot wait to see what the future holds for both of our businesses!

We’ve got a mailbox, which means we have a building! I cannot tell you how big of a milestone moving into this studio is for Forage. I never thought I’d need studio space for my little side hustle- ha! - but y’all have continuously overwhelmed me with support and encouragement. Thanks to each and everyone of you who has been cheering me on along the way— I hope for even bigger things to come!

FREE FLOWERS
🌸 I have been the recipient of so much generosity this week. The offers to wash our clothes, house us, feed us, and let us sit in the precious AC have not stopped pouring in.
🌸 A new flower friend, Kali, housed nine bags of greenery and lots of fragile hydrangeas for me in her cooler while we were out of power.
🌸 Sarah Joy has housed my makeshift flower studio since Wednesday, and without it, I don’t think I would have been able to complete yesterday’s wedding.
🌸 So, in response, here are five little posies of free flowers for pick up at Counterspace. Share them with someone who needs them, or make yourself smile after a week of hotness and humidity.

I’m getting images back, and I’m just in love with this soft, peachy cream, hint of blush, apricot filled New Orleans wedding at the botanical garden.
🌸 The elation in each and every face is a little story of how beautiful the day was. From the laid back vibe in the bridal party getting ready room, to the absolute dream of a reception, it was just a joy!
🌸 Todd was my helper for this Sunday wedding, and it was so fun for him to get to be a part of styling tables, loading in and out, and lending a critique - when asked of course.

I know I said I like pink… but this lavender trend is winning me over big time.
Maybe it’s the sweetness of this couple, maybe it’s the absolute BLAST that we had at the reception, maybe it’s my sentimental side of getting to do flowers for friends… no matter what, I loved these flowers and this event.
Florists, what’s your thought on the sage and lavender trend?! It feels so classic and yet so youthful. Maybe that’s the best kind of trend…

The colors of summer and the peachiest zinnia ever.
🌸 As always, now is the time I acknowledge my love/hate for zinnias, but as always, their colors win me over! I think that I inch a bit closer to just loving them every year.
🌸 It’s not too late to throw a bunch of seeds out for a fall bloom, and most years a bunch self seed from my first succession.
🌸 Since I didn’t get my act (or flower beds) together in time for spring, I’ve been relying 100% on Agnes to keep me well supplied!

Flower details are like icing on the cake: you can have the event without them, but it’s not nearly as good. They do a little something to tie the entire day together, and I’m happy to think through those little spots at your reception that need to be looped into the bigger plan!

Fifty roses for a 50th wedding anniversary from a son to his parents. If that doesn’t make you feel all of the tender feelings, what will?!
🌸 It might sound strange that doing a 50-all-rose arrangement was a challenge (I think that most retail florists would laugh at that!) but my design style isn’t “a bunch of roses in a vase.”
🌸 A little bit of doubt crept in, but then I told myself to stick to my own style, do what you do, make it a forage arrangement.
🌸 I’m thrilled with how it turned out, and I think I’m going to start offering this as a daily arrangement option. Roses are special to a lot of couples and families, why shouldn’t we enjoy them en masse and on their own?!

What an honor it has been to be SCOUTED for Vol. 5 of !
🌸 This publication is full of female entrepreneurs (and our male counterparts, too!) that I am humbled to stand next to, and .porcelli has done a fabulous job of showcasing the talent included in these pages.
🌸 I didn’t know that I would make so many new friends and be encouraged in such a huge way when this all started, but oh my goodness, how thankful I am for every bit of it!!
🌸 The images are all beautiful and we have to thank for that.
🌸I chose to feature some of ‘s beautiful pictures from the winter wonderland wedding and just love that this little time stamp of micro-weddings is marked here forever!
🌸 This is a tiny look into what a dream studio space would look like for me, and I can’t say thank you enough to for being so gracious in lending me their incredible backdrop for this shoot.
🌸 And of course, my cheesy moment, was my load-in, cheer-me-on, stop-in-the-middle-of-his-work-day support team to get a zillion buckets of flowers in, set up, and out in a hour. Thanks for supporting the business that has consumed every inch of our home for the last two years. and your truck on most weekends. 💗

Once again, we’re under severe weather and flood watch, and once again, the anxiety rises.
🌸 I’m not sure how you guys cope with this, but
I think that creating helps.
🌸 I made this little guy from weekend left overs, and it is to send love out to our friends at who are going through it right now.
Their *brand new* shop in downtown Lafayette got several inches of water last night, and my heart is aching for Mia and her team.
